The problem with the seasonal ones is not many people watch a lot of series as they air. Participation on the  annual ones is usually higher because it allows more time to watch and a bigger pool of candidates.

I think the members came up with it because they felt CR’s “official” awards show was  too commercial/main stream. Case in point: CR “official” anime of the year 2018 was Devilman Crybaby (a Netflix series no less ). The form based one was A Place Further than the Universe. Hard to imagine a bigger style gap.

I think the pretext of seasonal topics should be to give the people who are watching less anime a hint of what anime to take into consideration. It's actually a good transition into the annual threads but that's just my 2 cents on this. Unless there is no or a small amount of participation.

I have "A Place Further than the Universe" on my watch-list but haven't gotten around watching it yet.

Naaaah, too busy with college and all. I'm even reprimanded by my very close friend not to be a lazy bum and attend other activities. I'm so busy with just academic stuffs how much more with other activities on the load XD

Hanebado does have some character exploration and development. And it looks like Battery is on Prime so I’ll give it a try when I start Vinland Saga.

You may be able to come across a good used bike @Illusion of Terra I have a habit of finding nice ones all the time that people abandon at thrift stores. But I do live in a vacation town, so perhaps that may have something to do with it.

@Muco I love riding mountain bike trails around here! Its so much fun, but I'm definitely out of shape and I can tell when I'm on one. Challenging, but I also love doing jumps over the outdoor obstacle course. You have one near you?

@Seshi Unfortunately, we don't have any mountains nearby but we do have huge forests and the roads are rather rocky here. You have to be wary of the sludge in this season since raining will be a common thing but this makes it more challenging and exciting to take out your bike and ride it in the forest. There is also a road that leads to a lookout tower from which you can look upon the trees and even see a glimpse of the lake.

We don’t have mountains close by either, they just call it mountain biking when you’re on a “mountain bike” and going on a trail here designed to mimic a mountain path. It’s fun, there’s cliffs you can fall off of if you’re not careful, but it wouldn’t be like falling off an actual mountain

NC.. But close enough yea we get lots of rain as well.

I should get myself a new umbrella since I lost my other one somehow, else I might really end up like in the gif.

Just woke up to a dusting. Not predicting much (maybe an inch today), but enough to be a nuisance.  And if all the rain we had this winter was snow, I’d still be digging out, so I don’t miss it at all.

Regarding your second question, and please understand that I am very very biased about this series, I 100% recommend it to anyone who reads light novels or likes fantasy/isekai. It's my favorite light novel series and I honestly adore all the characters in it. Just a warning, I know some people did not like Rudy whatsoever due to his nature in the beginning of the story, but he has some of the best character development I have seen in my opinion. 

But yes, definitely give it a read if you have the time and give me your thoughts if you'd like!
(The LN finally got licensed in the West recently which is great news since I've been wanting a physical copy) 

I read the description beforehand and It was one of those MMORPG Light Novels we've excessively. That's why I was approaching it with caution. Thanks for your opinion even if it was biased, I will read it nevertheless  and see for myself.

@MucoYeah the whole isekai craze has definitely made the market over-saturated. If you haven't read it already, The Faraway Paladin is another excellent fantasy isekai. The tone is a bit different from most isekai, almost western-like, but it's still a great read. And you're welcome, I hope you enjoy it, even if just a little bit!

Welcome back

Winter is my favourite season. Pretty soon snow will be falling and staying. I say in about three weeks. 

I dislike when the ways are frozen and you have to move with caution in order to not slip on the ice.

But other than that, I like winter as well.  Last year snow fell down in late December, let's see how it goes this year.
