  1. Yeah, I ended up dropping Lostorage during episode 1. Really just couldn't get into it like Selector. Although thinking about it, never did actually finish watching season 2 of Selector for some reason. Yep, completely agree there.
  2. If you've been keeping up with this season, what were your thoughts on the season as a whole? Did you find many favorites, or was the season kinda bland? For me, I'd have to say that Steins;Gate 0 and SAO Alternative really overshadowed a lot of the other shows, so I didn't really give them much of a chance. SAO Alternative is alright, but Steins;Gate 0 really did well in living up to the first season imo. Overall, kinda looking forward to this season being over and seeing what next season has to offer.
  3. Played The Fruit of Grisaia after like owning it for forever since I was one of the original kickstarter backers for the translation for it. Only received the last 3 physical copies (The Labyrinth of Grisaia, The Eden of Grisaia, and Chiru Chiru Michiru) for it all at once recently which was what I was waiting for before starting it. Overall, pretty good so far, seems like my interest in non fantasy VNs isn't really there right now (and might not come back), so probably not as good as I thought it would be 4 years ago.
  4. [mal type=anime id=32902] Easily the best OVA I've ever seen, outshining even the main show imo, this OVA does so well in telling a tragic tale that sets up an unforgettable past experience of our MC.
  5. Definitely sub due to usually better quality VAs, as well as some really serious lines just sound really terrible in English. I don't usually actively read subs. Over the time I've watched anime, my mind just kind of acknowledges it's there, while focusing more on the visuals, and can get 99% of what they are saying. If I'm really tired though, I'll have to go back to reading them. Not to mention, dubs just aren't as available as subs are, and you have to wait a lot longer for them most of the time.

    E3 2018

Don't really get that hyped up for E3 like other people do. Need Pokemon 2019, Fire Emblem, and perhaps Rune Factory 5 to all get on Switch so I have a reason to get one (perhaps some might be there tomorrow, but we'll see). Otherwise, everything I was looking forward to for the PS4 has already been released and haven't had time to play yet, or coming out rather soon and wasn't going to be at E3 anyway.
  7. Was just wondering, what linux distro(s) do you run, have tried in the past, and perhaps your favorite ones?

      efaardvark

Right now I'm running Ubuntu 17.10 on my main desktop system and an older SuSE on my LAN gateway/firewall.  I've also got a Synology NAS that's running whatever their version of linux is.  In the distant past I also used RedHat.

I don't really have a favorite distro.  I pretty much use whichever one does what I need when I set up a new system.  Distrowatch.org is my friend.  :)  SuSE is handy because they have everything, including proprietary stuff (when necessary).  Ubuntu I've tried only recently and I can't really recommend it at the moment.  They're a bit behind on their kernel updates and their desktop/gui situation is a bit disorganized as they transition away from their custom "unity" interface and back to Gnome (or KDE).  Should be better in a year or so though, and I'm still on 17.10 when 18.04 is current so maybe I might upgrade to 18.04 LTS at some point in the near future.  If that isn't what I need then go to something like Arch or Manjaro.

Not that Ubuntu is causing me any problems at the moment.  It is fine for day-to-day stuff.. youtube, discord (even my new headset), spotify, etc.  I've even got a few games like Kerbal Space Program that push the CPU and GPU pretty hard and that work fine.  I have an old FX-8370 processor and a recent-ish RX480 GPU in there now that are well supported hardware-wise.

I'd like to upgrade to Ryzen (or even Threadripper) and a better GPU over the next year however and that's going to take a newer kernel.  My Ubuntu 17.10 is still using linux kernel v4.13 from a year ago, before the new AMD CPUs came out.  Ubuntu 18.04 is based on linux 4.15 while Manjaro is on the latest-and-greatest 4.17.  The difference means things like good Vulkan, mesa, and Vega (3d) support for newer games, working HDMI sound on newer GFX cards (needed for most VR setups), and painless virtualization and optimizations for the new CPUs.

  8. @Something Crazy Some good Isekai manga I'm reading right now: Wortenia Senki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu World Teacher: Isekaishiki Kyouiku Agent Hope that helps.

    Strategy Games

Hm... Rondo of Swords DS is pretty obscure tactical game that was really enjoyable. You've probably already played fire emblem (radiant series was really good). If you're fine with a tactical experience that is more VN with battles every now and then, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception/Truth PS4 is really good. That's all I can remember for now, hope there is at least one game in there that helps xP

    Strategy Games

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion and Endless Space are both really fun strategy games on steam.
  11. Glad you like them And yeah, if its a touhou song, I've already heard it too many times to count xP
  12. Going back through all my saved Nightcore was rather nostalgic (since touhou eurobeat is my main choice of music now) Found a few of my favorites though. Tad surprised that none of these have been posted yet.
  13. Mine was likely Pokemon Adventures. Does the series way more justice than the show or even the games ever have. Now there is a manga that brings up memories as well. Really good manga, just stopped following it due to slow release schedule.
  14. Really inconsistent about watching anime now. If I'm watching something really good, I'll spend all of my free time on that show. Recently though, I have just been playing more games and reading manga than watching anime.
  15. Would probably whack him on the head, and tell him to stop cheating on his waifus. xP
  16. Good: An hour away from the US capital. Have been there several times. It's pretty nice for a day trip. People are generally nice if I don't go south or east. Bad: Really expensive living (most of my coworkers pay 1k+/month on rent) Not many jobs that compensate well enough for the cost of living. People are really arrogant/aloof around the area of where I work and the closer you get to the capital.
  17. If there was ever a character made with me in mind, it would be Jean Otus from ACCA. Everything from his demeanor, forgetfulness, and intelligence are all relatable to me. There are plenty of other characters in shows I can relate to, just not on the same level as Jean.
  18. Going to finally be relaxing this weekend (will probably be watching some anime and playing Atelier Sophie/FE Awakening). Just replaced my car (as the alternator went out and other work needed to be done on it). Haven't gotten a chance to take a picture, but this is what I got (2007 Chevy Cobalt, 90k miles)
  19. Easily, no questions asked. I'd probably choose... You beat me to it Ryu xP
  20. Atelier Sophie (PS4) Just finding/crafting the highest level stuff I can and registering at the duplication shop so I can buy as many as I want xP It does take a few ingame days for them to get back in stock though. This is a really relaxing game overall. Fire Emblem Awakening (3DS) Playing this for like my 20th time at least (have 350 hours on just this 3ds, and based on other games, activity log didn't transfer over.... so yeah). Don't really know why I'm playing this other than I'm almost done with FE Echoes and just wanted something to replace it. On chapter 7ish of the main story.
  21. Ah, you're right, went back and checked, and it was @Optic who watched it at the same time as me. xP
  22. Pretty much this since we both watched it back when it aired. Probably did cry though xP
  23. Yeah, there should be more of it. My only real complaint is how overloaded the MC is, if they kinda spread out his awesomeness a bit between several of the MCs, it would have helped me enjoy it more (or even perhaps having a prequel showing him going through things to gain all the skills he does have). As for Haruhi, it really just hasn't hooked me on its show yet, like I just don't have a huge desire to keep watching the next episode like with other shows (Irregular at Magic High School even does this for me). It's about a crazy chuunibyou girl who doesn't like talking to much of anyone, and forms a club looking for aliens and such. There are some major plot twists and stuff later down the road, but overall, it just wasn't the kind of story I was into. I already dropped the novel for the same reason, I was only really trying the anime to see if it might be more enjoyable that way.
  24. Doesn't appear that it's on Crunchyroll, so probably won't be getting around to it soon unfortunately. I'll keep it in mind if it ever does get on there though. Btw, do you happen to read any manga? If so, how do you like it usually in comparison to anime?
