Animedragon
I've finished watching Love is Indivisible by Twins. So we have a guy living next door to two girls who are twins and the three of them grew up together, the guy likes both the girls and both of them like him so a slightly different angle on the usual love triangle. My initial thoughts, based on the first few episodes were favourable, and I liked the dialogue that was liberally laced with references to sci-fi series and literary works etc. (I was a bit surprised to hear one of the girls use the quote from the Dandelion Girl that Kotomi used in Clannad.) But ultimately I found the series disappointing, the 3 main characters and the sometimes annoying secondary characters went through a lot of situations, shouting matches and internal reflections but at the end of the final episode we were back where we started with the guy having dated both twins and still being unable to decide which twin to pick as his girlfriend. Animedragon
I've now finished watching Shoshimin: How To Become Ordinary I was quite looking forward to this because I'd heard it was by the same author as Hyouka, but I was quite disappointed by it. I found the two main characters rather devoid of personality and character and the supporting characters weren't much better. I also found some of the mysteries a bit contrived. K-chan
Been watching Absolute Duo. Not much to say about it, not great in anyway. But it reminds me of the feel of anime some ten years ago with those fan-service scene and moe heroine. It really makes me recall how otakus were afraid to tell people they liked these stuffs Entertaining watch though.
Ohayotaku
Finished my rewatch of Tower of God season 1. While it may not have lived up to it’s hype, it’s still pretty solid & reminiscent of Hunter x Hunter with it’s tests & emphasis on teamwork. While the climactic betrayal is foreshadowed from the beginning, the additional perspective the final episode provides makes it that much more impactful. Started watching season 2 & while not as enjoyable so far, still pretty good & hoping it will get better once we catch up with the returning characters. Also gradually easing into the Fall season of shows. Continuing to enjoy You Are Miss Servant even if it’s attempts at seriousness clash with it’s cuter & funnier moments. The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians seems like a lower quality version of Little Witch Academia but still enjoyable. 2nd seasons of Shangri La Frontier & Herbivorous Dragon continue to deliver what made their 1st ones entertaining. Questionable if I’ll stay with the Ranma 1/2 remake as I’m not really feeling it adds anything to the original. And 365 Days To the Wedding has been disappointing so far. And Dandadan has caught up to the point I saw at the movies last month so will be continuing it. Edited October 22 by Ohayotaku
efaardvark
So there's a.. reboot? of Demon Lord Retry. Sorry, but I gotta ask: why? It's way worse than the first one too. I couldn't get past the first episode.

It's way worse than the first one too. I couldn't get past the first episode. Season 1 was trashy, but it managed to be entertaining. But yeah, the changes they made for the new one are in no way improvements. Worst thing is the changes they made to Killer Queen’s design (from violent badass to childish tsundere) It’s understandable that they toned down Mikan’s design , but the new one is just generic looking. All the new character designs are just boring with no individuality. I stayed with the new series through episode 3 because that’s where the story was supposed to resume from season 1, but have dropped for good. Animedragon
I've now finished watching Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines. Initially I wasn't too interested in this series but it seemed to be getting some good comments so I thought I'd give it a try although I wasn't really expecting much from it. However, I found it quite an interesting little series and quite enjoyed watching it. "Too many losing Heroines" was perhaps a misleading title, I'm sure there were only three, but on the other hand having too many characters, especially in a 12 episode series, can be a problem because it can end up with none of them having enough screen time to develop their personality and character and be easily recognised by the viewer. One complaint I read about the series was that the story didn't go anywhere, but I think that's the point of series like this they're a journey not a destination. Ohayotaku
Started watching that other anime sequel from this season about crazy VR gamer frenemies (SAOA: Gun Gale Online 2). Funny how Shangri La Frontier’s NPCs have more personalty than many of the players in GGO (most of them in the opening arc at least being motivated solely by personal grudges. Though I guess it’s also to try to remind us who they are, season 1 was 6 years ago afterall ). Likewise, though there are similarities, Pitohui can be summed up as being dangerously obsessive, while Arthur is a more nuanced character. Still enjoyable & very well animated, but I definitely think SLF is better. I should also note that in both series that while the game world is immersive, the players are not trapped & there is not a direct correlation between injury/death in game to IRL. Animedragon
I've just started watching SAO. When this came out in 2012 I watched the trailers and previews and didn't think much of it because the trailers all focused on the battles and back then the only way I could watch anime was to buy the DVDs. Recently there's been a few postings on FB with clips from the non-battle scenes and these tended to change my view of the series and since it's available on CR I thought I'd give it a try. I'm now about halfway through and finding to be quite a good series with an interesting concept, story and cast of characters.
Ohayotaku
Will probably finish Tower of God 2’s first cour & start the second this week. Continuing to watch a handful of seasonals I’ve already mentioned. Will probably sample Orb: On the Movements of the Earth & Nina the Starry Bride soon. It will probably be December before I tackle the newest seasons of ReZero & Danmachi. Ohayotaku
After watching the latest ep of SLF, gotta wonder who game devs hate more: Sunraku or Maple (Bofuri)? And Bilac continues to develop despite being a NPC (moreso than Emul actually).

corvi
Wistoria. It's fun, I like it... but some of the character choices and worldbuilding elements take me out sometimes. Again, I like it, but I usually have to make an effort not to dive too deep into it.
spacelime
I just started dandadan, so far it seems really cool! I get where all of the interest is coming from - I hope the animation keeps up as the episodes go on. I especially like the female MC, I appreciate a rebel.
