Magus
Netflix "jail" is a double-edged sword. On one hand, there's a lot of stuff that doesn't get discussed because of it. On the other hand... there's some pretty good stuff after all. Currently watching Hell's Paradise, and it's one heck of a ride.
Ohayotaku
Managed to find a matinee showing of the subbed version of Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom. Had to drive a bit further than I usually prefer, but still under an hour one way. I actually consider it worth it because the big screen & soundsystem really accentuated the epicness of the visuals & soundtrack (my hearing has improved quite a bit since my last post now that I’m on medication for it). It felt like a LOTR adaption at times, though that’s probably in part due to Demiurge taking on a form that’s textbook Balrog). The R rating (along with this being Overlord after all) means this is NOT a feel good movie. It’s not just that Ainz isn’t a hero, I don’t tink he can even be considered an anti-hero. But that’s why it stands out from the generic glut of isekai series. The transition between scenes at times felt like an event or dialogue was skipped & the attempts at humor felt largely ineffective due to the inevitability of tragedy, but I think it captured the franchise’s atmosphere as well as the tv series at it’s best & is a good example of the dark fantasy genre. Honestly left with a knot in my stomach afterwards, but think I’ll be adding it to my list of all-time favorite anime movies. 8/

efaardvark
Just finished Gimai Seikatsu / Days with My Stepsister. Slow, and seemed like the main characters made things harder on themselves than it needed to be. But they worked it out and the ending was satisfactory. Did I say slow? Perhaps "glacial" would be more applicable. It was a bit hard to stick with it through all 12 episodes. Worth a watch but if you're easily bored then you might want to skip this one. Animedragon
1 hour ago, Sarada said: Angel Beats I watched that one a while back. It's quite a good story, but a bit confusing in places. I read somewhere that it was originally planned to be longer but got cut back due to budget issues, I'm not sure how true that is but I thought it would explain why I found it confusing. But then again, it doesn't take much to confuse me Nice sig by the way.

Ohayotaku
I understand Re:Zero season 3 is on hiatus until February, so will probably attempt to binge up to the current ep over the extended holiday weekend after the family gathering is over. No way I’m facing the Black Friday crowds, especially with temperatures expected to plummet.
Animedragon
I've been rewatching Seraphim Call. An interesting series from 1999 comprising 11 stand alone stories set in the same futuristic city in 2010 (!) featuring the lives of 11 different girls. The episodes are a bit of a mixed bag some with very clever and inventive storytelling others a bit plain but all are interesting to watch. Ohayotaku
Watched the first Mononoke movie (Karakasa) on Netflix. It’s a follow up to the 2007 anime series which is a supernatural mystery (which itself was a follow up to the Bakaneko storyline in Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror (2006)). The most notable aspect is the psychedelic art style & animation. The story can be a bit hard to follow but i enjoyed it, probably because I enjoyed some other series with a similar setting/themes in recent years (Raven of the Inner Palace, Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master). There’s another movie in the works & sounds like it could be a sequel (Kame as a returning character?) Edited November 29 by Ohayotaku
Ohayotaku
Watched through episode 8 of Re:Zero season 3 (episode 1 was actually 3 times the length of a normal one). Was surprised at how easily I was able to get back into the story considering season 2 was almost 4 years ago & the size of it’s supporting cast. Definitely a lot going on with no less than 4 Sin Arch-bishops involved in the latest plot. Now waiting for next year for the season to continue. Watched the first couple episodes of Yakuza Fiancé, but didn’t really like the characters or the art, so doubt I’ll continue it. Also watched the first couple episodes of Nina, The Starry Bride and liking it better.
Twilight_Winter
Finished watching Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun's first 3 seasons a few days ago. It's a surprisingly wholesome series unlike a lot of shows of it's kind, and was kind of a breath of fresh air in a sense too. Season 4 was announced recently, but I think I might continue forward with the manga instead of waiting for that. Now I'm considering what to watch next.

Agreed: Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun is an awesome anime! It's full of friendship dynamics and there are a lot of inside jokes for watchers like the MC being insanely good dodger, a useful ability that comes with being a meek-natured human. Season 1 & 2 minor spoilers: Season 1 & 2 minor spoilers: Loved the evil-cycle arc but as much as I want to see more like a lot of fans, it's good that it's so rare, otherwise it will be less special like what Dragonball Z did to super saiyan form. And, Kalego-sensei being Irumaa's familiar will always make me rofl. Edited December 4 by chk Forgot to specify what season it spoils 1

I also agree that it was fun watching Iruma actually go after something he wanted for once during his evil cycle, and it is also heartwarming when you realize it wasn't just for himself, but his classmates too. But I definitely prefer normal Iruma too, and like you said "evil" Iruma wouldn't be quiet so especial if he kept showing up every few episodes like Super Saiyan (it's sad to see that form being reduced to a basic ability these days). Also Kalego being Iruma's familiar is actually quiet funny, still got a chuckle out of me towards the end of season 3 6 hours ago, Animedragon said: I've just started rewatching Clannad, which is my favourite series.
