I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time
“Overtime is absolute shit! I swear I’m going to clock out on time, damn you!“ I have found a kindred spirit & her name is Alina Clover 😍 spacer.png

I've finished watching Fruits Basket. It's certainly an interesting series, but I have to say that That I don't think I've ever seen a series where so many of the main and supporting characters have issues and traumas in their past. I also don't think I've seen a series where there are so many mean, annoying and downright nasty characters in the main and supporting cast.
I've seen it said that the series had a sad ending, but I didn't find it sad at all, in fact I thought it had a really good ending.

Watched the two SAO films- Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night and Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night. I'm not really a fan of this type of anime, but I found both films quite good. It was interesting to find out how Asuna became trapped in the game and watch her develop into an ace fighter.

I decided I wanted to watch a cute little romance anime in between all my hot-blooded shounen.  I was recommended Ice Guy and his Cool Female Colleague, and as the title might suggest, it's just so... chill.  It still has a base of some awkwardness (the characters are newbies in the work force), but it's handled very maturely.

Trying to wrap up 2024 by month’s end by focusing on series I put on hold or passed over earlier

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth has improved significantly since Rafal stopped being an active participant. Not an unlikable character, just a poorly written one whose motives never made any sense to me. The other characters are much more nuanced.

Delicious in Dungeon not sure if I’ll finish as it’s an absolute slog at this point for me & ridiculously over-hyped.

Girls Band Cry decently entertaining so far, but not liking the choice of CGI, especially since it really doesn’t match the more rebellious tone it’s trying to depict.

Debating whether or not to pick up Metallic Rouge again.

Don't. You're welcome. In all seriousness, I don't know if it was an Ergo-Proxy type where the information is there you just have to study it for hours on end to understand the subtle story progression, or if I'm just grade A stupid, but I didn't enjoy it, the ending did not satisfy, and I finished it just to see if it would pleasantly surprise me in the end... it did not.

Hit a dry spell after finishing my rewatch of Fire Force and Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions second season, so I picked up Tower of God and so far it's at least a little better than I expected.

I've just finished re-watching all three seasons of Yuru Camp again. It's a great series but I'm still not sure if it's a camping show that features cooking of a cookery show that features camping 🙂. Either way the the food the girls cook is (to my very traditional British tastes) very weird 😱.

I'm glad Rin got a biker friend, she needs a bit of company on some of her longer trips.  I see that Nadeshiko has become a train fan, I can't argue with that 😀 🚂

I watched Macross Plus today for the first time in years. For a 30 year old series the artwork and animation is still impressive, the story perhaps not so much, but then the main focus was always on the fighter planes.

Finished season 1 of Delicious in Dungeon & my opinion remains largely unchanged. Majorly over-hyped & will not bother with season 2.

Got caught up on Danmachi V, now just waiting for the final episodes to air.

Plan to finish Girls Band Cry this weekend.

Really enjoying a couple isekai parodies from this season: Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan & Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru.

I’m currently watching Vinland Saga—it’s such a masterpiece! The historical setting, intense action, and deep character development have me completely hooked. It’s got this amazing balance of brutal Viking battles and emotional storytelling that keeps me coming back for more.

Just finished Skip and Loafer. Definitely one of my fav seinen media, besides oyasumi pun pun. Now I'm finally starting My Dress-Up Darling, and I really like Gojo's character. He's very plain, but I think I'll order some merch to make an ita bag of him.

I finished watching Girls Band Cry today. I'm not really sure what to make of it. I found it got off to a good if slow start and didn't really think that it lived up to all the hype surrounding it when it was released although it did get better as the story progressed I didn't really feel that I got to know any of the characters and they seemed to spend a lot of their time together arguing and shouting at each other. What music I heard their band play just sounded like a jumbled noise to me. When the singer, Nina, stood on stage telling her life story she reminded me of Tomori in Bang Dream it's My Go.

I read somewhere that Girls Band Cry was a similar type of franchise to Bang Dream, but I think its got a way to go to be as good as Bang Dream.

i've been rewatching sword art online recently! it's what really got me into anime, so it's been fun to go back to it. definitely a guilty pleasure show of mine

SAO is rather different to what I usually watch, but I quite enjoyed it. I didn't think much of the 2nd half of the 1st series and thought it wasn't nearly as good as the 1st half. I did like the two movies Aria of a Sleepless Night and Aria of Deep Night, the Ordinal Scale movie was quite good too.

I finished rewatching Charlotte yesterday which is an interesting sci-fi series, but I think the ending was a bit rushed and improbable.
