Based purely on the title I was so ready to not like this one and was primed to drop it at the slightest provocation. But it's actually not bad so far and I'll likely finish it after all. The OP, "アドリブ", or "Ad-lib" is apropos to the overall theme of the anime, which is about a girl trying to be all things to her crush while hoping/fearing that he'll recognize and reciprocate. Goofy and shallow, but nevertheless managing to be entertaining. I recently add this one to my watch list as I thought it looked like being a bit of fun. I only watched the first ep before setting it aside, despite Saori Hayami being one of my favorite VAs. It wasn’t bad, but as I was already going to watch Alya Sometimes Hides her Feelings in Russian & Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines, already had my quota of high school romantic hijinks. Recently finished Alya & am actually planning to watch season 2 when it comes out. Planning to finish Makeine & Dungeon People over the weekend now the powers back on. Makeine is on my to-watch list as well but I'll probably skip Alya due to lack of time. (I actually could probably make the time but I've had a bit of anime-blahs lately so I've shifted more towards games and reading in my free time.)

From various on-line comments I wasn't going to watch Makine, but I now think it might be a fun series so I've put it at the bottom of my list. Ohayotaku
Watched the first episode of Uzumaki yesterday. I’d noted on previous occasions that I’m not actually a fan of Junji Ito, but must admit the visual style of this one (black & white to emulate the manga) really contributes to the atmosphere. It’s only going to be 4 eps long & spooky season is here, so will probably finish it.
Soramee_
Rewatching sao since it’s a bad idea to start the new game because of all the spoiler I would get lol. Already finished the aincrad arc and I can confidently say that sao is and always will be my favorite anime of all time in my heart. I don’t care what other people say because it’s a 10/10 for me. Surprised how much it impacted how I act. Makes sense now why my friends say I’m kirito Also my god I hate Oberon

Ohayotaku
Finished The Elusive Samurai last night. Feel like they needed to develop the supporting characters personalities more, the humor didn’t always work for me & the artwork can alternate between stunning & jarrng. I do like the overall concept though & it was decent. Will probably focus on catching up on Oshi no Ko 2 next so I can watch the last ep of the season tomorrow. Soramee_
Just finished the fairy dance arc of sao so season 1. Im so glad i rewatched sao, it has been so long since i last cried this much, since i last felt a single silver of hope. I finally have an idea of what to do. That was the best thing i could have ever done. This show will always be my favorite and a 10/10. Ty. Ty so much. I thought maybe the reason I liked this anime so much was just because of nostalgia but no it’s not. No other thing in the world has resonated that much with me It’s time to start GGO Edited October 2, 2024 by Soramee_
K-chan
Finished Spice & Wolf remake recently. Really nice watch and it was nice to hear Holo's voice again after more than ten years. Spice & Wolf 2008 was the first seasonal anime I watched, Holo was my childhood waifu lol

Caught up, but apparently the final ep isn’t till this weekend (helluva way to lead into it with how the next to last one ended. glad we’re back onto the central mystery though). Tried out a couple fall seasonals 5,000 Year Old Herbivorous Dragon 2 - an anime take on The Reluctant Dragon with the title character’s OP & over-enthusiastic self-appointed “disciple” being the source of many of his problems. I enjoyed Season 1 which was largely comedic with some heartwarming moments as well. The first two 1/2 length episodes match that, but the new OP suggests some darker story elements to come. Acro Trip - watched the first 2 eps of this as well. Intended as a parody of the magical girl genre, but I found it pretty boring & not funny. Doubtful I ‘ll stick with it. And ReZero 3 premiered, but I plan on binging it, or at least wait until several episodes are available. Ohayotaku
Started my rewatch of Tower of God season 1. Also need to finish Reincarnated as a Slime 3 to wrap up the summer season shows. Enjoyed the first ep of You Are Miss Servant, but Negative/Positive Angler didn’t really appeal to me.

Animedragon
Now that all the summer season anime have finished airing it's time to start binge watching! First up was Days With My Stepsister, with a title like that I wondered which way the story would go and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a fairly serious drama about two strangers who suddenly became step-siblings and their efforts to come to terms with their new situation and how they and their parents could fit together and become a family. The series has a fairly slow pace and the visual style has a quite muted pastel coloured palette and uses some unusual angles and visual effects which along with quiet and subdued background music which fits the tone of the scenes very well. Overall the series tackles the subject in a very thoughtful way and I enjoyed watching it.
Animedragon
I've now finished watching Alya Sometimes Hides Her Felling in Russian. Initially I wasn't impressed with the level of fanservice in the first two episodes and nearly dropped the series, but I decided to give it another couple of episodes. I was glad I did because it settled down a bit later on and the interactions between the various characters was interesting. Once the student council election battle started I enjoyed the interplay and schemes employed by the competing factions. I hope this series gets a second season as the final episode ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger.

Wickett
I'm going back and rewatching Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War before I watch the final season. This is the only current anime I watch in dub anymore simply because of how attached I became to the English voice actors as a teenager. Thankfully it isn't nearly the worst out there. When I read the manga and watched the first two seasons the first time around, I felt like the pacing was insanely fast. I have always felt like Bleach makes a way better anime than manga being so battle heavy, but some of the scenes Tite Kubo had envisioned for this final arc are top tier for long time viewers like myself. I also read recently that Kubo was working with the studio to add some more context he had originally intended to include in the manga but wasn't able to due to health issues, so I'm looking forward to seeing if the end is a bit more satisfactory this time around. Animedragon
I've finished watching Love is Indivisible by Twins. So we have a guy living next door to two girls who are twins and the three of them grew up together, the guy likes both the girls and both of them like him so a slightly different angle on the usual love triangle. My initial thoughts, based on the first few episodes were favourable, and I liked the dialogue that was liberally laced with references to sci-fi series and literary works etc. (I was a bit surprised to hear one of the girls use the quote from the Dandelion Girl that Kotomi used in Clannad.) But ultimately I found the series disappointing, the 3 main characters and the sometimes annoying secondary characters went through a lot of situations, shouting matches and internal reflections but at the end of the final episode we were back where we started with the guy having dated both twins and still being unable to decide which twin to pick as his girlfriend.
