Hello! I'm Tippy... quite new here, not to anime but to forums in general. I am quite young, thirteen but age doesn't always equal wisdom as I would put it. My favorite animes are... Hunter X Hunter, Whispered Words, and Sakura Trick. And... I think thats it! I hope this isn't as awkwardly worded as I think it is... but here we go!

Yo, I'm a little bit of an anime fan myself. I've been watching anime since 2013. I first started off with SAO since I was a filthy casual but then later on I learned more about that amazing world of anime and watch other anime. some of my favorites are Oregairu,Re:Zero,Toradora,No game no life. But my all time favorite is FLCL aka fooly cooly. I got a couple of hobbies like playing osu, coding in html and c++(I'm fairly new though), and skating. A friend referred me to this website since I'm a bit of an anime junkie, but I hope to meet some cool new people and talk some cool stuffz. I'll be sure to read the rules

Well I'd probably go with something short for a beginner, so I'm not gonna shove something like Hunter X Hunter or DBZ in there face. In all honestly I'd probably just whip out an anime movie(Most likely by Studio Ghibli), then move on to some actual animes. For the very first animes it would be these: Tokyo Ghoul(Decent action anime) Spice and Wolf(Only straight romance anime I've finished to the end. .-.) Attack on Titan(Falls in the same category as Tokyo Ghoul.) Psycho Pass(My first sci-fi/psychological anime) Kinos Journey(Has some fantasy elements, its not very popular and despite the occasional action scenes its one of the most relaxing animes I've watched, so I think its beginner friendly despite being old)

Nope. You're not dead inside. It just lacked something, is all. I'm overly emotional, so it's not hard to make me cry, really. So I wouldn't say that the fact it didn't make you cry was a bad thing. I cried more during Kimi no Na wa, tbh. If it didn't seem to skip around so much, I probably would have given it a higher rating. But it blows my mind that so many people prefer it over other films that came out in the same year. It for sure wasn't my favorite. Cute. Beautiful. Still not my favorite. But... to each their own

It's reassuring to read this. I watched A Silent Voice a few days ago and had the same opinion as you do. It was very good, but not the ultimate masterpiece that some make it out to be. It was an emotional experience and that is an achievement, but I was not close to crying at any point in the movie. So, it's good to see your opinion, instead of being left wondering if I'm dead inside or something.

I got a site for you! I use it all the time since its easier than clicking on loads of google links and top ten lists. http://www.randomanime.org/ Basically you put in 3 genres you are looking for and hit generate! Then just flip through the eligible anime until you find one that looks satisfying.

Essentially, it is my understanding that Optic is no longer recruiting new Anime Team members.. The original purpose of the group was to help regulate and stimulate the anime sections of the forums, but since they are much more condensed these days, there is no huge reason to have an anime team. To be honest, with most of the AT members being inactive or rarely active, I'm not sure how much longer this title will even remain a title. If anything changes, Optic will let you all know. On a side note, I appreciate the eagerness

I usually have a friend hook me up with his animes. Unfortunately most of them turn out to be full of harems so I have to weave through his collection to find a good one.

OKAY SO: 1) First I ask for recommendations from people here who I know like the same things I do. 2) I look at related anime to ones I like. 3) I use anime suggestion engines and MAL Anime recommendations based on a series I've seen. 4) I use the subreddit /r/animesuggest 5) In some cases, if the anime is produced by a small studio, there is a good chance that the studio has another work you will like as well. 6) I stalk random people's MAL lists.

I remember when I was younger and I used to search animalog (it was an watch anime online site) and I would just open in a random page of it and watch one of the animes of that page, I saw some horrible ones (I'm talking to you, Phi Brain Kami no Puzzle). Today I watch mostly animes tha are airing in the current season but sometimes I watch some older ones that I see in some AMV and like. I agree with this so much, I watched so many shitty animes on animalog and how I, for some reason, dislike droping animes even if they are shit, used to watch them till the end. The only one I dropped was Phi Brain.

90% of the time, I end up finding anime I like by somehow stumbling upon fanart and then figuring out where said character comes from and then watching said show. Character design gets me. It sounds insane but for real. Also. I have found a few series by AMV. It will have a scene that I find interesting and then I seek out where it originated from Sure, my methods are insanely stupid. Sure, I could just hop on MAL. Butttttt. I live on the edge. And I'm not terrified of potential spoilers.

Well, the combat mechanics were handled by the same company (Platinum games). Anyway, I ended up deciding to get Tales of Berseria and Metro Redux, a remastered collection of the to Metro games which were based off the superb Metro book series by Dmitry Glukhovsky.

Season confirmed for 2018 and honestly, I'm thankful for that. The gap between season 1 and season 2 was brutal to say the least. From what I understand, the initial gap was so long because the manga was still fairly new, and so there was not enough content to push season 2 out so soon. But regardless, I'm happy that I won't have to wait like 3 years for another season. Was not aware of that? Now I feel like I missed some important details, if true. Of course, I admittingly have not read the manga even though I keep saying I will. So. I'm only going off the animated series here. Generally speaking, I can agree with a lot of the points you've made. I actually preferred season 1 over 2, though. When season 2 initially started, I had really high expectations, and at first, I was really happy with the outcome. But it DID slow down.. A LOT. And there were even points where I felt like it was just jumping around as a means to keep things going but not progressing as far as plot. I was happy to see more character backgrounds. But I felt like they were more drawn out than necessary in order to basically stretch the series out. 12 episodes was a joke to me. And I honestly can't stand the fact that most anime nowadays is 12-13 episodes. I did not expect a long season, but I did expect more content than what I was given. I won't lie, I'm an action junkie as well. There were moments I grew bored. Overall, I just felt like things were a little more thrown around. And that made me a little frustrated. The last episode, that cliff hanger ending really pissed me off, I won't lie. However, necessary in order to keep people gearing for season 3.

I have poor self-control and so made a rule I could only be online at a certain time in an effort to get my sorry ass to do things, other than lift and hit bags.

I'm also using Comcast because it's really my only option if I want gaming worthy internet where I live. Back when I lived in Wisconsin I think I had Charter and it was way better. Never went out or had problems and was very fast. Comcast is usually fast and usually works but sometimes just doesn't work for seemingly no reason and it's very annoying. Plus it's expensive!

Hanasaku Iroha is one of my anime obsessions, I feeling that by the end, you'll enjoy it quite a bit more than you already are. It's just such a wonderful show.

GUMI! GUMI is just so amazing! The songs she sings are awesome, and she is super adorable! She is the most cutest Vocaloid in my opinion :3. And Shion Sonozaki as well.^^ Shion might be crazy, but she is still amazing! She's my favourite because she is very beautiful, and I love her personality!
