  1. Yes, yes, yes! Steve would make a great husbando and father! He's probably got the heart of every woman or girl who has ever watched that show I even said it to my husband. He really cares about those kids. Vegeta definitely made the best overall growth in the DBZ series. I had never considered things from a "family" point of view before. He totally is a good father. It's actually hard to find good examples of fathers in anime, or perhaps I can simply name more bad examples than really good ones lol. Hmm...yeah...Illya is definitely in the 'minor gonna get a visit from the police' kind of waifu...too young to have kids too lol. I love your reasoning... "she has the best hair" lol....I guess pretty kids is important too But seriously, caring for your kids and being the type to actually be active in their lives are two different things (for example, my own father cared for myself and my siblings greatly, but he expressed that love by staying at work long hours and basically being absent from my childhood - he regrets that severely now and goes out of his way to be around for his grandchildren, having realized all that he missed and that material possessions wasn't what we really wanted). I'm going to guess though that you meant she'd be pretty active in their lives. I agree with your assessment of Kiyohime entirely. She strikes me as a Madea character (who if you all recall in the myth did murder her children after Jason sought to marry the King's daughter) for sure. Hana gave up everything for her children, so they could choose to be what and who they wanted to. Definitely a good mom, though if the community had not reached out to help her their first year there, I cannot imagine they would have survived winter. It was an all or nothing move to the countryside. Amaama to Inazuma is one of those on my list to watch someday Keiko actually would be a good one, I agree. She's mild mannered but doesn't let herself be pushed around. I can see her being a very caring parent and a responsible one too. Yusuke can act like a man-child at times and she seems to have a pretty good handle on him for the most part lol.. You know, I could see that too, though I don't think that drinking alcohol necessarily means you won't be a good parent. If she had a child to go home to, I don't think she would have participated. Haha
  2. You must be one of those people who want a harem....lol. Anyways, what makes them good family material to you? Or do they?
  3. So, this thought came to mind after a conversation that my best friend and I had the other day. I asked her, if she could marry an anime character, who would it be and why? Of all people...she said Vegeta (DBZ). Her reasoning blew me away. She said, all things considered, he was a great family man. He was loyal to Bulma, active in his kids lives, a great father (much unlike Goku who was always beefing up and let Piccolo raise poor Gohan more than he did himself), and just an all around great family man. She said to me that although she has had many paramours that she has desired over her time watching anime, if she had to marry one, she would want him to be a good family man (and none of her other paramours really had any qualities that would make them a good father). This lead me to thinking....my husbando is Captain Harlock. Would he have been a good family man? >_> In consideration of the anime, probably not. He leaves his goddaughter at a school where she is bullied by her own caregivers (and he knows it, she's being used repeatedly as bait) and treated worse than a neglected slave at times. He only decides to bring her onboard when he has no choice (she is carried off by aliens to another place in the universe altogether). He actually holds his promise to his friend higher than the happiness and safety of his own goddaughter. Family man material? Probably not >_> Emeraldas really was worse...family woman material? Definitely not. Making a loyal partner? Both probably would...Emeraldas did to her husband to an extreme in fact. So, in consideration of all of this, is your husbando or waifu good family man/woman material? Would they make a good parent (try not to judge them through the rose colored glasses of your affections)? Would they make a good husband or wife? Is there someone else that you would probably actually marry with a family in mind, other than your current husbando or waifu? What are some of the characteristics that make them a suitable parent or perhaps, make them entirely unsuited to parenting?
  4. Yes, Ouran is a reverse harem so most of those would fit the bill. Sticking to light hearted ones, I'd suggest something like.... Maid Sama Fruits Basket (about to get a new season) Snow White with the Red Hair Utano Prince Sama season one ....immediately come to mind. Some more dramatic ones you might try would be.... Hiiro no Kakera La Storia de la Arcana Famiglia Hanasakeru Seishounen Vampire Knight And some general other romance/comedy type I'd recommend would be... Engaged to the Unidentified (low on romance, high on comedy) Ah! My Goddess My LOVE Story And have fun trying different anime out. Tell us more about what it was about Ouran that made you like it and we'll probably be more specific.
  5. Anyone else had Red Bean anything ever? Well, I wanted to try some mochi ice cream and went with red bean (cause I always wanted to try a red bean bun) and at first I got strawberry, then a mix of raspberries, and then all I could taste was bubblegum! Seriously! I would have sworn it was bubblegum ice cream lol.... My lovely plate.... Anyone else have an opinion on the taste? It seriously changed from the first bite to the last for me.

    Hi guys

Hi @Kaga Koko, welcome to the forums what are some of your favorite anime?
  7. @XII360 well, I'm relieved you didn't ask about the rock people say I must be hiding under for not loving the new music lol. I always wanted to inherit my grandfather's records someday (won't happen, but oh well. I'm sure my hateful aunt will trash it so no one else can hsve it to remember him by.). He has some great big band pieces and good dance music from the 50s and all. Tried to teach me to dance once but...lets face it, I do well enough to walk without tripping and landing on my face as it is.
  8. The key to all live action adaptations is to lower one's expectations sufficiently so that one can be pleasantly surprised when they are passed A friend of mine actually watches a lot of live action adaptations and she has some she swears are just as good, if not better than, the anime they came from. The only person I know who has a little collection of live action adaptations actually. I'd advise not watching anything spectacular prior to watching it too. I watched Log Horizon (a masterpiece in my opinion) twice before watching La Storia de la Arcana Famiglia and found that up until the final two episodes I was unnecessarily harsh on the anime since my expectations were aligned with my expectations of Log Horizon as opposed to a new anime that I had bought blind. Once I realized this, I actually felt the anime was better than what I was giving it. I had poisoned my opinion before ever watching it.
  9. I play a lot of RPGs, adventures, and most anything with a good story. Then there are games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon too. Mostly console though occasionally I will play a game on my laptop (not often. It is for writing only these days). On my phone or tablet, I have a few otome games which I love playing and use mostly just to pass the time while waiting (I seem to wait a lot these days).
  10. This sounds awfully familiar. I think I have read a summary of this anime before. Was it really old animation? Like 70s, 80s animation?
  11. Oh @XII360. If I said neither, what would you say? I do like some old 90s songs, but I mostly listen to instrumentals and alternative music and classical singers (opera). Most songs made these says are not inspiring to me. I enjoy my Frank Sinatra records and a lot of older music, from before my time. If I said most modern music makes me cringe or annoyed, would you think less of me? Maybe I'm just stuck in an era before my time.
  12. Max savings but missed opportunities!
  13. Hello all Now that most of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales have ended (albeit some Christmas sales are ongoing), post your purchases and savings! Now's the time to brag on the good deals you got this season! I'll start off. I ended up getting 18 sets from Sentai during their sale this year (up to 85% off they said). I got Princess Tutu Complete Collection (please assume it is complete collection unless I specify a season), Time Jam: Valerian and Laureline, Beautiful Bones - Sakurako's Investigation, Wish Upon the Pleiades, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, Utano Prince-sama Revolutions, Utano Prince-sama Legend Star, Flying Witch, Aoharu x Machinegun, Maid-Sama! and Space Brothers Collections 1 - 8. Space Brothers was probably my best buy of all considering I had put off getting them for years hoping I'd find a good sale on the horizon (this year and last year I began to worry that they might go out of print before that happened!). All that for $120.82. After putting it back into my cart post sale, I found the price to be $735.82 meaning I made off with savings of 83.5% off on average! Not bad at all if I do say so myself. I actually ended up not going to my yearly convention this year so even after all that anime I just got, I'm still under budget for the whole year (I usually plan to spend half at the con, half on Black Friday sales). Anyone else get in some good savings? Grabbed anything particularly interesting or something you'd been watching for a sale on for a long good while? Other than Space Brothers, I'm glad I finally found a good deal on Time Jam too as I was beginning to think I'd just have to pay full price for it someday. And Princess Tutu was only $3.99! Now, to find the time to watch it all after it arrives. Got my shipment email this morning for the bulk of it (apparently, Maid-Sama was a hot item and is on backorder for now). I've got another half year to go to my next con and plenty of anime to fill my time till then...
  14. Essentially a trained assistant to a veterinarian. They often do the weighings, triage, sample collection, and so forth to free up the veterinarian's time and help streamline the process. A good vet is valuable. One with good vet techs too is priceless.
  15. I think Netflix has generally handled live shows fairly well so far. With this in mind, I am somewhat optimistic about it. They can do it well and hopefully they will. Would love to watch it someday. I think I saw somewhere it would be 10 episodes which is good. The plot should be paced just right (think Stranger Things pacing) for a good run.
  16. Kanon, Hiiro no Kakera, Familiar of Zero, Special A, Say I Love you, Crest/Banner of the Stars, Ah! My Goddess, Escaflowne, Gundam Wing series, Steins Gate, Black Lagoon...
  17. Better than earlier this year though I am apart from my family most days. Still hoping I can change that in the coming days.
  18. Not mentioned, Ambition of Oda Nobuna and Btoom!
  19. Driving from work the night before 5 hours to my parents home. Will crash there in my old room for the night, get up and help mom cook for Thanksgiving, then sleep there and get up at 2am to drive back to work, work the day then drive home 6.5 hours and crash on the couch with my husband. Will be fuuuuun. The food promises to be worth it. The fun with my parents does too lol.
  20. Alright. I'm ending this downhill tumble before it turns into a landslide. Back to the topic at hand, folks. I'd rebuff you. I'm a married woman, you know.
  21. Got all the Space Brothers. Best deal on those I've ever seen! And finally got a copy of Time Jam for cheap
  22. I think you make your own rules. Like only one Staryu. Or Fainted pokemon are dead pokemon. You could even do a "only use pokemon with water abilities (like misty or a gym leader). The rules you make are just supposed to make the game harder to play.
  23. Hello all and I hope you have some money saved up for anime shopping this year! I usually save half my anime budget for the Black Friday sales (happening earlier and earlier) and man are some looking good this year! Head on over to Sentaifilmworks Online for some amazing deals (up to 85% off). Many of thier items are priced down to $3, $4, and $8 USD. Check it out for some great deals (and for you reverse harem fans, they usually mark those down during this sale, so stock up while you can! Rightstuf is doing thier yearly Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale as well (I believe they will do a 12 days of Christmas Sale too soon with Christmas Klues to save Santa) though the prices are nowhere near the discounts Sentai gives. Funimation has a sale on as well with Bundles. More to come as I find them and they open!
  24. My first thought was after a fox girl in anime, but the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the ones from Otome Yokai Zakuro, like Bonbori.
