I think Magi is probably a good bet for you as well as Fairy Tail. I was never actually into Naruto at all so...I don't get the hype, but that's just me. Attack on Titan might be worth looking into as well.

Well, the only About Me info I can see for you is your Anime list and your forum Rank and last viewed X thread info.
-
If you don't fill out that section, it should not appear on your profile when you pull it up. However, you will still be able to see others "About Me" sections if they chose to fill it out.

He is eternally 12 years old so he will never know romance...I think if he grew up a bit and the show did with him (think Digimon), it would be better.

Keichi and Belldandy ~ Ah! My Goddess Loiuse and Saito ~ Familiar of Zero L&S because although I think Saito was a horrible lead male, he still did right by her in the end (hopefully ending his horny teenager immaturity phase in the process).

Welcome to the forums! It is always good to see someone who retained their love of anime from their younger years. I too started in the 90s and have continued since. My favorites are a bit different but it is cool that you started a channel. I've actually never watched those you listed (except for DBZ of course) but I'm sure I'm the exception to the rule on that one

Pretty much this. I was part of a different forum before but they had major management/ownership/hosting problems. I loved their review section but ymthey eventually crumbled over the hosting problems and joint ownership disagreements.

Lol...I do that with Stardew. Watching DF play on youtube is one of my favorite pastimes now.

So, it seems for the past 2 years I have been trying to land my dream job (not just preparing for it but applying too). This has been a very very long and painful process, and at this point, I can confess... I have rewritten my resume likely over 150 times in two years...and my cover letters...I have around 120 or so. That's a lot of writing. I remember the Dean of my school once saying "Anyone who claims to enjoy writing is a liar" and I raised my hand and said, "I actually like writing....sir....." Haha! Didn't earn me any points with that guy but ah well. I do love writing stories. I'm still working on my short (the one I meant to be around 15 pages long that has turned into 120 pages and counting) story on the side but writing all of these resumes and cover letters has given me a different perspective to writing. I've even written resumes and cover letters for my friends (I tell all my friends they must expect to spend a minimum of 4-8 hours with me for a resume, and another 8-16 hours for a cover letter - the information you have to drag out of people to write these is insane) and darn....I make those things look great! One of my friends worked as a cleaning lady for around 8 years, and in fast food for another 4 years and I made her resume sound very professional and geared it towards her dream warehouse job with the terminology I used to describe her work responsibilities. Sometimes I wonder though, why it takes so long for me to comb through and improve my own work. I likely turn a blind eye towards my own resume's flaws. In the past, I relegated updating my resume to a yearly task that I set for myself on my whiteboard in my office on New Years Day (along with all my other goals (you know, save X amount of money in savings, attain this or that certification, pay off that loan) things that I wanted to get done that year that I would mark off as I accomplished them). I'm now realizing that doing this yearly, I probably missed some major additions I could've added before that now are just out of my grasp....not to mention...if you don't use it, you lose it (the magic resume touch that is). Well, I've got the touch now. Maybe I should open up a resume/cover letter writing service, charge people by the hour to do it. At least I'd make money from it. So far I've been just giving it away! I'm also a lot happier with my resume than I can say I was two years ago. It is full of interesting information, not just generic stuff, that exemplifies my abilities and leads to enhancing others. It's all building on itself. I seem to be getting better at displaying pertinent information. It isn't enough to just list the robots I've worked with. Now I'm listing what their functions were as well as the software components. Give the random HR representative a shred of information to understand what it means (HR rep must be the strangest job in the world - they get to pick people who get to see the hiring manager, and most of the time they have no understanding of what the person does or how they get the job done). I'm still at a disadvantage. Studies have shown ambitious men get three times the interviews that ambitious women do, but at least this resume is written proof of my abilities. ~sighs~ Well, back to applying for the dream. Some day I'll get there. Not sure when. If I keep trying though, my ticket's eventually got to be pulled. This cat's not giving up the hunt that easily!

Any Animes which Main Character is a loser?
Beocat replied to KatakuriSama's topic in Anime Discussion
Familiar of Zero ~ Louise the Zero....that's how bad it is for her, they even gave her name to remind her of it. Not her fault mind you, but it plagues her throughout the anime. She is pretty impressive but she has it hard too. Okami-san and her Seven Companions ~ the main male lead is quite skilled but has a crippling condition that essentially zeroes him out. Still one of my favorite male leads due to his loyal personality. Only two that spring to mind right offhand. -
Question about making a thread in the Creative Writing Section
Beocat replied to HanaApril's question in Feedback and Support
As long as it abides by the forum guidelines, it shouldn't be a problem. If you look at it and think to yourself "this is probably not a family friendly writing" then it is likely something you should post in a private club (which you would need to create and recruit members for) and not on the main forums. That is the best "on the fly" test for questionable content. -
Yes, this function does exist. However if you are running on a mobile phone or using a mobile browser, you may not be able to see it. First you will need to change your browser to a desk top site browser. This is usually in the settings area of your browser if you are on a mobile phone. After that you should be able to see the option to mark the entire site as read or to jump to unread content in the bottom right side of the browser. Hope this helps!

I do not work in the homes thankfully, but I provide services for them. My specialty is geriatrics so... yeah, I get the full view regardless of whether I am physically present or not.

Most Messed Up Anime You've Ever Watched?
Beocat replied to BleachKing96's topic in Anime Discussion
Didn't watch it, but a friend warned me about Rin (Mnemosyne). There are some fairly graphic horror/torture scenes in it. Not for kids and not for the even mildly faint of heart. It isn't hentai but it is graphic. -
There are different types of homes actually woth different levels of care. There are retirement communities which provide independent living for residents with some minor caretaker activities (usually weekly checkups by staff in case of falls or merely meal delivery). Then there are more Assisted Living options which still give some independence with greater caretaking needs (might have staff present to help with more activities of daily living). Then there are rest homes where people who may need even greater care reside (typically these individuals have all their medical needs taken care of by the home including medications, doctor visits, and so forth. They may be mobile but they are living in the facility). Then there are skilled nursing facilities, which generally take care of individuals who have a great need of medical care, often almost hospital like for around the clock care. Working in Long Term Care I can confirm that it varies from home to home what quality you will get. Some are roach motels with the admin and nursing staff smoking weed in the breakrooms and patients living in their filth without even baths. Others are very clean with excellent, attentive and caring staff. Do your research and visit the place before you pick one. Many times, the basic nursing assistant staff are not high school graduates and make mistakes in administration of medication (or they view the patients meds as everyone's meds so Mr Smith who paid for his blood pressure meds might be short at the end of the month because they gave his meds to Ms Mae down the hall whose doctor never wrote her an order to refill hers and now they are both out of meds even though he had an order and paid for his). It is not perfect but most families cannot give the level of care and supervision the patients in most of these homes require.

You sound as though you are recounting the first episode of Crest of the Stars which is the first "prequel" series to Banner of the Stars. Look up Crest of the Stars. You won't be disappointed. [mal type=anime id=290]

Welcome to the forums I think you might like Psycho-PASS so maybe try that one out. It's a bit more Scifi but very good.

Probably not for me... but I can see where others might enjoy it.

I believe that the term Magical Girl actually means different things to different people, so as long as you have reasons to see it as a Magical Girl anime, I don't see why it couldn't be. Ah, Pretear. I never hear people mention that one. I was more a fan of the manga (didn't like that they changed the story and romance in the anime) but it is still a good Magical Girl anime. And Princess Yucie, I keep her in my Magical Girl section too! Though for me she is more a borderline Magical Girl. That was a beautiful story

Yes! Magic Knight Rayearth is definitely a magical girl anime and often, as you say, overlooked. Fuu was my favorite character from the series too I think most people just missed it when it came out. Who was your favorite from Rayearth?

As a SW fan, I can say George Lucas's insanity and greed killed SW, not Disney. Eps 1-3 were trash, completely disregarded the lore and history that Eps 4-6 had set up and were designed for a quick sell at top dollar to Disney. If anything, Disney saved SW because from what I've heard, they actually cut Lucas out entirely. He was so bad they didn't even want him as a consultant after they experienced him themselves. Sure, Disney went through and said "Eps4-6 are canon, the books are not, Clone Wars is canon, KOTOR is not, FU is not (poor Starkiller)" but it had to be done. SW was created from an insane genius. Someone had to pick a path sometime. Granted, I didn't like Ep 7 (too much a New Hope copy), and I didn't like 8 (omg...our villian is a snowflake who still has temper tantrums, much of the movie was entirely unnecessary) but I'll hold judgment on the trilogy till 9 comes out (maybe they'll pull it together into something good). That said, Rogue One was amazing and Solo was alright (the crazy lady droid was a bit over the top). Growing pains folks. They're figuring out what makes a SW movie SW. I've enjoyed most all SW games I've played (Kotor, Jedi Knight series, Rogue Squadron, Force Unleashed, and so on) though FU was probably my last series. Wish I had another Rogue Squadron....perhaps a Tie Fighter version. I always was an Empire gal. Go Empire! Anyways, I feel I am treading off my response...Disney saved SW and it will only get better the more they figure it out. I hope the old cast (Eps 4-6) are completely over. We need them out (and everyone constantly saying that was the only good time for SW to stop being reminded of those Eps, no matter how good they were, to go as well) unfortunately to move on to better horizons. EA however, I find to be a franchise killer. They buy studios, rape their IPs, then trash them when the fanbase has been used up. EA and Disney are worlds apart folks. WORLDS.

Franchising is not always bad. Disney does a very good job and invests a lot in maintaining and expanding their franchises. They've been quite successful in keeping it all alive. Pokemon (Nintendo right?) too has done the same (even though most games are identical in all but starters). It is unchecked, unplanned, unnutured franchising that makes people sick of it. A new Assassin's Creed game every year will burn out all but the most diehard fans. That is unchecked franchising. The sequel to a standalone film or game? Unplanned. The random reboots? Unnutured. Franchising if done right can be innovative and nostalgic at the same time. It's the rest of them that let their greed overtake their common sense.
