  1. Watched the first ep of GITS 2045. Cannot believe people are still making CGI this bad after all these years. Maybe they blew their budget making sure The Major had nipples in the OP 🤣 But at least they’re making relevant social commentary. Like the reason the goons are wearing football uniforms is because they’re jocks who got stuck with student loan debts 🙄

    One & done

  2. Violet Evergarden: Eternity & the Auto Memory Doll visually beautiful, but the story was far too simplistic to devote 90 minutes to and relied too much on cliches to have any real emotional impact.
  3. I really need to stop watching this show too close to bed time as it leaves all sorts of thoughts rattling around in my head Shisho (Kazuma) has surpassed Hatori as my 2nd favorite Sohma as he is an ally in helping Tohru break Akito’s hold on the zodiac members, especially Kyo. At the same time he is concerned for her safety & points out that the best thing she can probably do is continue to be a beacon of hope against the despair Akito tries to impose on them. His view of Akito as an unstable child seems spot on with much of her behavior best described as tantrums. While not aware of the exact nature of the zodiac curse, I agree with his suspicion that they are bound to the roles they have been assigned. Interesting how the word “bond” can have either positive or negative connotations depending on how it is used. The whole thing between Kyo & Kagura was bittersweet. Clear that she’s known for quite sometime her feelings for Kyo were not altruistic. Starting out as pity & later as guilt, believing that if she could make herself fall in love with him it would serve as atonement. I don’t think Kyo saying he would never fall in love with her was meant as cruel but telling her she can stop trying to make it up to him. And even if her initial motives were selfish, she at least played with him which was more than anyone else was willing to do. So he is grateful for at least giving him some reprieve from his loneliness. Him referring to her as “big sis” in the flashback scene I think expresses how he has always felt about her. Still I think it was painful for her to realize that she could never be there for him the way Tohru could after seeing the difference in their reactions to his cursed form. Now that I’ve got at least some of that down, gonna try to fall asleep. G’night.
  4. And apparently I jinxed it, because delayed till next year now
  5. With many series wrapping up over the next week or two, time to look ahead https://www.livechart.me/summer-2020/tv For me the biggest draws are sequels: Fruits Basket 2019 season 2 continues & ReZero, Muhyo & Roji, Fire Force & No Guns Life all get new seasons. I’m glad that Appare Ranman & Diary of Our Days at Breakwater are restarting after being cancelled by Covid-chan. And I’m curious about Deca Dence. So what are other member’s looking forward to ir thoughts on the new season?
  6. I remember watching some of the edited version of the old series back in the early 2000s & thinking it had potential. Since then I’d seen a number of online petitions trying to get it relicensed, so curious to see how the new complete adaption turns out. I typically enjoy supernatural themed shows, so looking forward to it.
  7. Latest ep of My Next Life as a Villainess actually made me tear up a bit as Katarina gets some closure for the regret in her previous life. I believe next week is the finale

  8. Small shells, rotini or penne for me
  9. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here I’ve always been a life long dog person myself, but did enjoy My Roommate is a Cat. And then there’s Karyl
  10. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here To answer your question, for me it was watching Star Blazers while getting ready for school in the morning. Would even set my alarm for 6 am on summer vacation so I could watch it & then go back to sleep afterwards.
  11. Pokemon Secret society tries to kill man for microwaving bananas.
  12. Moving Log Horizon up further on my PTW list since a new season is coming in October.
  13. Wish Miyuki’s family showed up more often Also the segment of Kaguya & Chika trying to teach him to dance was really funny. Despite the season being almost over, the two new characters haven’t really grown on me.
  14. Adding to my t shirt collection
  15. Finished Dorohedoro & enjoyed it more than I should probably admit. Not for those with a weak stomach or without an appreciation for dark humor. As far as comparisons, would say it has aspects of Akira, Baccano, Total Recall & Doom. Will probably just watch currently airing stuff for a couple days before re-watching Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation to refresh my memory for season 2 next month.
  16. Kaguya-sama: Love is War has a second season that’s ongoing. Same for the Fruits Basket remake, though currently the drama far outweighs the comedy. Takagi-san & High Score Girl both have 2 seasons. Quintessential Quintuplets has a 2nd season coming, but might be next year. The 2 season requirement rules out most romcoms I’ve watched. If you’re willing to compromise Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai is one season plus a movie & Re:Life is one season plus OVAs (17 episodes total)
  17. I bought the subtitled dvd collections a couple years back, but haven’t gotten around to watching yet. Used to have the whole thing back in the day, unfortunately most of my VHS tapes didn’t hold up very well & didn’t make the cut for the downsize/move a couple years ago. Despite being from the creator of Slayers, the look of that one never really appealed to me so never tried it. Same here. Saw where it got added to CR not too long ago.
  18. Afraid that’s way too vague. Are we talking hand-to-hand? Sword & Sorcery? Super Powers? Is the setting present day? Medieval? Feudal? Futuristic?
  19. Shaman King will be getting a new adaption beginning in April 2021. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-06-11/shaman-king-manga-gets-brand-new-tv-anime-next-april/.160544 I remember watching some of the edited version of the old series back in the early 2000s & thinking it had potential.
