I would say Princess Resurrection probably qualifies, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. And I just finished the first episode of Zombie Land Saga and thought it was hillarious. Will be a challenge to keep it fresh for a whole season though.

Cowboy Bebop: Faye Tenchi Universe

My apologies on the image, upon further investigation, it appears to be a particularly well done piece of fan art by someone trying to ship Bakugo & Uraraka. I'd actually seen several other similar images of them in their formal attire promoting the movie so I thought it was legit. And actually I think it would have been a good montage to play at the end. Of course it would have to take place after everyone had a chance to clean things up, but it would have been an opportunity to give the side characters some more screen time & in a setting that the tv series actually hasn't explored (a formal dance); Once again, I'm not telling anyone who's a fan to not see the movie, I'm just saying don't expect to be blown away or anything (a lot of my own disappointment is probably a result of being over-hyped for it). Likewise, if you'd never seen the series before & are thinking of passing on it because the movie didn't seem that great, the series is much, MUCH better.

My impressions: Afraid I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed. The movie wasn't bad per se, but really didn't do anything that the tv series hasn't already done better Was kinda entertaining to see a younger All Might working with a partner, but was disappointed we didn't his see his mentor/predecessor or him interacting with younger versions of characters like Aizawa, Endeavor or Grand Torino. Bakugo & Mineta offered up some laughs by being true-to-form & most of Class 1-A made appearances, but a lot just as background characters. I was surprised they didn't do more with Tsuyu since she's something of a fanfavorite. The new girl, Melissa is nice & cute (especially with her glasses on ), but can't compete with Uraraka. Probably my biggest disappointment was the quality of the animation, which is where you would normally expect a big screen version to shine. There were several scenes where the characters faces are drawn in an overly simplistic style, making them look more like sketches than finished artwork, and not in a way where it feels like it was to set a tone. Of course there's a big freak'n CGI monstrosity for the final batlle, but I've already stated elsewhere I don't equate CGI with instant epicness. In closing, if you've never watched My Hero Academia, I can't really recommend the movie as your first exposure as it really didn't bring out the series best qualities. If you're already a fan (like myself) , there's enough here to keep you mildly entertained, but don't expect anything comparable to All Might vs All-for-One or for that matter Deku/Todoroki/Iieda vs Stain. on a side note: was this scene actually in the movie? I sat all the way through the end credits, but never saw it

I'm going to see it tonight. It's the subtitled version & a weeknight, so I don't know how many other people will be there, but really looking forward to it. Will update afterwards.

Melacholy of Haruhi Suzimiya - "God" is a japanese schoolgirl. Maybe an overstatement, but she can alter reality to suit her whims without even realizing it.

A Place Further than the Universe - a group of high school girls go on an expedition to Antarctica, learning about friendship and not giving up on your dreams (highly recommended) Yuru Camp - very funny & cute show about girls enjoying the great outdoors Flying Witch - charming slice-of-life series Some older series: Magic Knight Rayearth - older show about junior high girls on a quest to save a fantasy world (some romance in the first season, but not central to the story. a bit more in the second season) R.O.D. tv series - the main characters are all female, most of whom have the ability to manipulate paper in different ways the ova series has quite a bit of fanservice).

Just watched the first 4 episodes of RErideD on CrunchyRoll. There's some nice visuals & at least the makings of a decent scifi story here, but the narrative isn't real coherent and a lot of it is just implausible Whether I continue to watch it after the season officially starts will largely depend on how many other series I decide to follow. On a side note, I doubt the villain's resemblance to Donald Trump is purely co-incidental

Too Late for Love -- Def Leppard

In addition to what I mentioned in my earlier post, I've resumed watching Angolmois & Cells at Work after some of the backlog series I tried (Luck & Logic, A Certain Magical Index, Maria the Virgin Witch) failed to hold my interest. I'm also watching the occasional episode of New Game when I'm in need of some CGDCT.

Battle Angel Alita was the one I got hooked on, though I wound up losing interest during the Last Order series. Really though, I always preferred animation as a medium. I used to read the series in Viz’s Animerica Extra & Dark Horse’s Super Manga Blast, but the only other series I really read regularly were Oh My Goddess & Yotsuba. (Oops, forgot about XXXholic & Chibi Vampire :p)

One more suggerstion: Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun

The Ancient Magus Bride is about a girl who can see supernatural creatures who is "bought" by a half-fae to be his apprentice and future bride The female/male roles are reversed and it's more of a romcom but Karin (Chibi Vampire) is about a guy's relationship with a "reverse-vampire" (instead of needing to drink blood, her body produces too much blood and causes massive nosebleeds) If just interactions between humans & yokai is enough I highly recommend Gegege no Kitaro (got a new series in 2018) and even though I haven't seen it, I've heard good things about Natsume's Book of Friends.

Your mention of advanced technology from an ancient civilization made me think of the Mycenae Empire from Mazinger Z (Tranzor Z in the Americanized version), and there was an enemy robot with a volcano on it's back there's a written description of the robot here http://mazinger.wikia.com/wiki/Gasrose Hopefully this is what you're thinking of.

Gegege no Kitaro is supposed to start a new arc, will also probably continue to follow Attack on Titan Golden Kamuy season 2 - hopefully some of that untapped potential from season 1 will come to fruition Gureazeni: Money Pitch season 2 - not that good of a show really, but I'm something of a baseball fan and I appreciate it taking a different approach from most series dealing with the sport, despite it's flaws. 7 Deadly Sins: Return of the Commandments - Netflix is supposed to make available at least some episodes sometime in October. I'll probably watch the new Castlevania episodes too. I'm sure there will be some new shows I follow, but will need to see what gets licensed and how the first couple episodes go.

Maybe try Recovery of an MMO Junkie. It's about a relationship that starts between players in a MMORPG where both MC's avatars were the opposite gender than IRL.

I think the series I recommended in my earlier post are all worth considering. A couple more to add are Card Captor Sakura, Little Witch Academia & R.O.D. tv series And since you mentioned liking Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon, there is a side series called Sword Oratorio. While seasons 1 & 2 had their flaws, they seemed to do a better job of balancing things out so that each episode had at least something going for it. The pattern for season 3, however, seems to be stretches of "meh" episodes that are capped off some with pretty awesome ones as the arcs conclude. I've seen several people complain about "filler" this season, but I've found that filler episodes can actually be quite entertaining when done right. Case in point, the special episode from a couple weeks ago was pretty funny IMO and helps to set up the movie (which I'm going to see at the theater in a couple weeks )
