  1. Correct, this one doesn’t even appear to be an isekai and is completely unrelated. Demon Lord Retry is it’s own thing as well but has more similarities.
  2. I wound up as Bow, though over half those questions didn’t have an answer that really suited me
  3. My currently airing top 5 1. Kimetsu no Yaiba 2. Fruits Basket (2019) 3. The Ones Within 4. If it’s for my Daughter, I’d even defeat a Demon Lord 5. Fire Force
  4. Thanks for the follow 😁

  5. Even if the focus wasn’t on central characters, these were still the most powerfully written episodes to date. Kinda surprising how with all the new series out there (some of which I do find enjoyable), a show from last season which is a remake is leaving them in the dust.
  6. Zombieland Saga is getting a second season. That certainly makes me smile 😁

  7. Thanks for the follow 😁

... wait, does that mean I’m being haunted now? 😱

    1. Nova

      Nova

Lol yes you are and welcome 👻😂

  8. The Japanese really love their cross promotions, even when they don’t make a lick of sense
  9. Episode 3 - visually stunning, especially the fight choreography. I didn’t like the way they used info dumps to put a lot of information out there, but definitely some intriguing developments
  10. I watched the first episode of Ms. Caretaker Sunohara-sou. Based on the description, I expected it to be like if Lucoa & Shota from Dragon Maid had there own series Despite being kind of ecchi, I actually thought it was pretty boring. Will probably give it a couple episodes to decide.
  11. Ironically, heres an example of the sort of articles I was talking about just put up on ANN https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2019-07-26/experimenting-with-manga-inside-senku-lab-at-the-agc-dr-stone-exhibit/.149354
  12. That the impression I get as well, yet the MC is supposed to be some sort of scientific genius who’s going to restore modern civilization from a stone age level & is so dedicated to science and logic he would rather die than renounce them. And don’t even get me started on the antagonist (I could rant for hours ). I hate to bash something apparently some people are really enjoying, but just gets me going.
  13. Crunchyroll are the ones really promoting it (they even have their logo in the opening, here in the states anyway). And they had all kind of articles on their site promoting it, including one about how the creators did “research” to make sure the science was plausible. I’m not saying it doesn’t put some facts out there, but actually seems on the same level as the Dumbbell series (or even Are You Lost?) as far as being informative/educational. If they would just let it be the ridiculous shonen series it actually is instead of trying to make it something it’s not, I could be more forgiving. Though even then, don’t think it will really be my thing.
  14. Continuing to watch though I still consider it over hyped/promoted on most sites. Ridiculously over the top, so it’s attempts to be pro logic/science usually elicit an eye roll from me. Still a good chance I’ll finish the cour out of curiosity, but probably not beyond. Then again my appreciation of Kimetsu no Yaiba really improved late in the first cour (after episode 11 I think) and carried over into the 2nd cour, so could still surprise me.
  15. Episode 3 is scheduled for today, but apparently some changes were made in response to the KyoAni fire. Will probably post some more detailed comments once I’ve seen it.
  16. Welcome, glad you’re checking us out. Sometimes the masterpieces/classics can be disappointing while a series you have little or no expectations for can surprise you. I try to keep an open mind and try a bit of everything except hentai (some regular series can blur the line enough as is anymore). Hope you stick around.
  17. There may be a simpler way but type spoiler surrounded by square brackets [ ] at the start of the text you want to hide. And then type /spoiler surrounded by square brackets [ ] at the end. Sorry if this explanation is confusing, but it kept treating it as a spoiler when I typed it For what it’s worth I wasn’t able to get into Angel Beats and dropped it when I tried watching it several years ago. I may give it another chance someday.
  18. While episodes 1 & 2 are all cuteness and charm, it shows a darker side with episode 3. And episode 4 is a bit hard to watch at times (just so I don’t frighten anyone off with a misunderstanding, it has to deal with bullying and prejudice). While not totally unexpected it was still pretty jarring. Also, people familiar with the source material have been hinting at later developments I would not be OK with. I’m not putting too much stock in that since people said the same thing about Shield Hero, but something to be aware of. Again, not trying to frighten anyone off as I am continuing to watch it for now & it could actually turn out to be a more substantive series than it appeared at first while still being heartwarming. Just don’t be lulled too much by the tone of the first two eps. Definitely not going to be just cutesy fluff.
  19. Welcome glad you decided to check things out here. I think the only actual yuri romance series I’ve seen was an older series called Strawberry Panic. There was a more recent series called Citrus, but I haven’t seen it. Of course there are a number of series where a yuri relationship is at least implied Flip Flappers comes to mind, which was a magical girl series. Very creative visually, but also weird (kind of dream like) Anyway, hope you decide to stay & join in.
  20. The currently airing Demon Lord Retry might qualify. The bad part is pretty much a given. While intentionally not taking itself very seriously & a lot of parody explains the story/writing, it also has pretty poor production values. As far as the good ... well it does manage to be kinda amusing at times, though the humor is getting raunchier especially now that they introduced the trap character (not really a spoiler considering that his on screen stats list him as a “girly boy”
  21. Wing was the Gundam series I made it the furthest on, with the possible exception of Iron Blooded Orphans. Still never managed to finish one though.
  22. Welcome, glad you found your way here Recently there have been a number of old-school anime that have gotten remakes/updates. Some of my personal favorites include Dororo, Fruits Basket, Ushio & Tora and Star Blazers 2199/2202. Pretty sure SSS Gridman had it’s basis in an older series. think I saw where Orphen is in the works. I haven’t watched much of Sailor Moon Crystal (my understanding is that it starts out disappointing but gets better and so far has adapted up to the Sailor Moon S part of the series i.e. Sailor Saturn). We also finally got an official English release of the original Sailor Stars season i.e. the Sailor Starlights. You mentioned several of Satoshi Kon’s works which tend to have complex, strange, psychological stories so maybe try Beautiful Bones, Boogiepop & Others (includes a retelling of the original series), Durarara & Baccano. Finally, since you also mention Gurren Lagann maybe try Darling in the Franxx. I could go on & on, but I’ve rambled enough (hope I didn’t tire you out). Anyway, hope you like it enough here to stay & participate
  23. Finally a break from the heat. Temps in the high 70s low 80s and sunny for the next couple days. Unfortunately that means yardwork when I get off work in the evening.
