  1. The Ones Within episode 2 - WTH did I just watch? As long as you don’t let rational thought get in the way, this show is a riot. I don’t know how the actual dialogue compares since I’ve only found the dub, but the english VAs are perfect. Probably my pleasant surprise of the season. BEM episode 1 - definitely very stylish with an oldschool noir feel to it. Will take a couple episodes to tell if it’s worthwhile.
  2. Shigure: Even if I drink, I am never drunk. Yuki: You just always seem drunk. - - Fruits Basket 2019
  3. Episode 15 - seems like this will be another excellent arc. The scenery details on the mountain really succeeded in creating a haunting atmosphere and the demons this time around apparently consider themselves to be a family. Tanjiro & Inosuke are having to use their unique talents to support each other if they want to survive. Hopefully Zenitsu will do something useful next week
  4. I agree with all of Seshi’s recommendations and add Dororo. For series from the current season To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts is my favorite with Fire Force being the one with the most potential. For somewhat ecchi comedy check out How Heavy are the Dumbbells you Lift. For diabetes inducing cuteness check out If it’s for my Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord. For older stuff: Attack on Titan finally revealed the secrets of the Jaeger family’s basement and set the stage for the final season next year. If you enjoy Kunihiko Ikuhara’s (Penguin Drum, Yuri Kuma Arashi) brand of weirdness check out Sarazanmai. For romcom there’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War. And since you mentioned Dragon Maid on an earlier post I’ll recommend As Miss Beelzebub Likes. Enjoy
  5. Dr. Stone episode 2 - I think I would enjoy this series more if CR hadn’t hyped it so much and the idea of promoting it as a series that “takes science seriously” is a joke. Will probably take 5 or 6 episodes to decide if it’s enjoyable enough.
  6. If it’s for my Daughter, I’d even defeat a Demon Lord - just watched the 2nd ep. No real action yet, but Latina is freak’n adorable. Not sure how it will develop later on, but definitely has an iyashikei feel to it right now. The Ones Within - well that was ... weird. Don’t honestly understand what’s going on here, but seems to be a survival game similar to Danganronpa or Assassination Classroom The dub is pretty good and the snarky dialogue is funny. May continue watching it as something different.
  7. Shiki is my all time favorite horror anime. For something more obscure maybe try Devil Lady and/or Betterman
  8. Carryovers from previous season: Fruits Basket (2019); Kimetsu no Yaiba; Gegege no Kitaro. Still making up my mind about new series but currently most likely: To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts; Isekai Cheat Magician; Fire Force; Cop Craft And for something silly and a bit ecchi Dumbbell nan kilo moteru? (though the workout tutorials sound at least a bit legit)
  9. You may like Killing Bites and Kakegurui. Also Juni Taisen: Zodiac Wars or Deadman Wonderland (though that one was never finished)
  10. Isekai Cheat Magician - fairly standard start for an isekai, but the characters seem likable . Pretty sure I’ll stick with this one.
  11. Granbelm - magical girls fighting using giant robots. Not actually good, but different so will probably give it a couple episodes. Could be similar to Mai Hime. Arifureta - basically an unlikable character ranting for a half hour. Don’t usually one-and-done a new series, but will make sn exception in this case.
  12. I did, but I think I actually enjoyed the first cour more than the second. I’m definitely curious to learn more about the world outside the orphanage
  13. I enjoyed the original Steins Gate series and movie very much. Steins Gate 0, not so much.
  14. You can definitely tell it’s by the same guy who created Soul Eater. We’ve barely gotten a glimpse of the characters and the world they live in. Can’t wait to see how it develops.
  15. Considering that one of my complaints when I first started watching this series was I was afraid it might get too cartoonish, I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed this week’s ep Suppose after the intensity of the multi episode arc it was a good change of pace and actually introduced a entertaining dynamic between the three main characters. No surprise that Inosuke didn’t become a demon slayer by the usual method. Nezuko’s reveal was pretty funny as well.
  16. Not actually hentai but some of the imagery/symbolism is ... suggestive
  17. I actually finished it. Funny thing is my biggest complaint isn’t with the weird/disgusting/controversial aspects but how repetitive a lot of it was. It tends to suck you in though as each ep ends on a reveal about one of the characters that makes you curious to see how they elaborate on it. While the ending didn’t make the emotional impact on me that I had hoped, I’m still glad I saw it through. I totally understand a lot of people dropping it because I have some issues with it myself, but if you want something different from the norm and are patient & not too easily grossed out I think it’s a worthwhile experience. As a matter of comparison I would hold it up to PenguinDrum or Flip Flappers.
  18. So, over on CR some of the members “vote” on each season’s anime in different categories for fun. Posting a link to my “ballot” for anyone interested since it provides a good summary of what I thought of the Spring 2019 season

  19. Seemed like there was a lot more going on this week than previous episodes. In regards to Momiji, I wonder if his dad told his mother about the Sohma curse, since having that strong a reaction would seem to indicate she had no clue it was even a possibility. Just goes to show the real curse isn’t the animal transformations, but how dysfunctional the family is. Always makes me smile how protective Uo & Hana are of Tohru. In regards to Kyo Finally, new cour means new OP/ED. While neither are as epic as the previous ones, both are cute. Especially the OP which seems more upbeat & optimistic.
  20. I think the implication is there were 2 special episodes, but CR only got the rights to one of them.
