  1. I feel your pain, up to 3 years ago streaming wasn’t an option for me due to unreliable internet connection where I lived. Having to rely on what was on tv or buying/renting discs made it hard to watch series.
  2. This week’s episode has been postponed(?) in response to the Kyoto Animation fire. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-07-19/fire-force-anime-halts-friday-planned-airing-streaming-of-3rd-episode/.149134
  3. Probably Syaoran Li from Cardcaptor Sakura
  4. I enjoyed Monster Rancher & LBX when they were on tv, but not sure where you would find it now. Cardcaptor Sakura & Magic Knight Rayearth both have female MCs but still a lot of action. I didn’t get very far into Radiant, but seemed pretty family friendly. Little Witch Academia might work too
  5. Of course it’s all subjective to my preferences, but hopefully you found some good ones. A lot of shows I rate 6 or 7 were still enjoyable, they just didn’t seem all that special. I’ll definitely add it to my bucketlist. The samurai genre as a whole hasn’t been one that particularly appeals to me. The recent remake of Dororo being the most notable exception. A couple others I found at least somewhat enjoyable were Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7 & Tsukage Ran: Carried by the Wind. Can’t remember the name of the recent one about the Mongol invasion, but it was OK. I watched a couple eps of Kochoki, but will most likely languish in my backlog pile.
  6. Astra Lost in Space episode 3 - continues to have a lot of facepalm moments for me, but my overall enjoyment is improving so will leave it on decide as I go status.
  7. I have never managed to make it through a single Gundam series start to finish. I think part of the issue for me is that it qualifies more as Mecha which tend to try to be more realistic and have military & political focus. Giant Robot series tend to be more over the top & campy (Mazinger Z, Gurren Lagann)
  8. Closest thing I can think of is Blue Seed, as it had the demon boy trying to protect the girl from other demons, but probably isn’t the one you’re looking for.
  9. Isekai Cheat Magician episode 2 - I agree that it’s unlikely this series will do anything revolutionary or groundbreaking, but I’m enjoying it and don’t think it deserves the trolliing it’s getting on other sites.
  10. My Anime List is a site where you can not only list the anime you’re watching, but what series you’ve completed/dropped/put on hold/plan to watch along with rating them (1 - 10). I tend to be pretty stingy with my ratings, giving most a 6 or 7. Very few 10s
  11. Isekai Cheat Magician is not boring, it just isn’t as gimmicky or fetish dependent as the other Isekai series this season.
  12. Just updated mine https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Ohayotaku&view=tile&status=1
  13. I loved seasons 1 & 2 of MHA. Season 3 had some good moments but was a bit disappointing at times. I have high expectations for season 4 in October. Nakano Hito Genome is weird, but really funny so far. I couldn’t really get into Index or Railgun, but they also gave a series to Accelerator if you enjoy them.
  14. Love the user name 😆

  15. Welcome There are actually a number of members here with families. For myself, no family but older than your average anime fan. As far as some recent recommendations: Shonen: My Hero Academia, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Ushio & Tora (referring to the recent tv series, not the old OVA). I’ll also mention Megalobox which was one of the better recent single cour series. Slice of Life: A Place Further than the Universe & My Roommate is a Cat (both have some sadness, but an overall positive message) For pure comfiness try Yuru Camp & Flying Witch.
  16. Welcome Always nice when creative people join. Hope you find things that inspire or catch your interest. A couple recs based on your preferences: Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba; Rising of the Shield Hero; Black Clover. Isekai Cheat Magician just started, but liking it so far. Not exactly sure what you mean by ‘emotional jargon’ but if you can clarify I might be able to come up with some matches.
  17. Anyone else watch the special episode CR put up recently? No story or character development, but made me laugh alot
  18. I don’t know about the manga version of Genome, but the anime version (The Ones Within) has been hilarious so far
  19. The Ones Within episode 2 - WTH did I just watch? As long as you don’t let rational thought get in the way, this show is a riot. I don’t know how the actual dialogue compares since I’ve only found the dub, but the english VAs are perfect. Probably my pleasant surprise of the season. BEM episode 1 - definitely very stylish with an oldschool noir feel to it. Will take a couple episodes to tell if it’s worthwhile.
  20. Shigure: Even if I drink, I am never drunk. Yuki: You just always seem drunk. - - Fruits Basket 2019
  21. Episode 15 - seems like this will be another excellent arc. The scenery details on the mountain really succeeded in creating a haunting atmosphere and the demons this time around apparently consider themselves to be a family. Tanjiro & Inosuke are having to use their unique talents to support each other if they want to survive. Hopefully Zenitsu will do something useful next week
  22. I agree with all of Seshi’s recommendations and add Dororo. For series from the current season To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts is my favorite with Fire Force being the one with the most potential. For somewhat ecchi comedy check out How Heavy are the Dumbbells you Lift. For diabetes inducing cuteness check out If it’s for my Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord. For older stuff: Attack on Titan finally revealed the secrets of the Jaeger family’s basement and set the stage for the final season next year. If you enjoy Kunihiko Ikuhara’s (Penguin Drum, Yuri Kuma Arashi) brand of weirdness check out Sarazanmai. For romcom there’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War. And since you mentioned Dragon Maid on an earlier post I’ll recommend As Miss Beelzebub Likes. Enjoy
  23. Dr. Stone episode 2 - I think I would enjoy this series more if CR hadn’t hyped it so much and the idea of promoting it as a series that “takes science seriously” is a joke. Will probably take 5 or 6 episodes to decide if it’s enjoyable enough.
