It has nothing to do with one version or the other. The show is garbage on both fronts.

I actually just finished NieR: Automata, and for some reason the latter most wanted game was one sale for PS Vita for only 3 bucks so I'm giving it a go. Downloaded Severed as well because it's free this month, and it's actually pretty decent.

You do make a good point, but I'm not asking for a long explanation about the delay, so much as a simple tweet saying something like "hey there's a bug we need to fix, gonna take a few weeks, sorry everyone" or you know, something along those lines. Something simple like that could be used to spread the word to anyone who wants to know why. These days, an entire article can be based off of a short tweet, so it's unreasonable to expect at least that much.

My one thing with this, is regardless of her given name, The Major has a lot of removable parts, meaning she could have easily been any race at any time. That doesn't mean that it's okay, but the argument of "She should have been Asian" doesn't really take that into account, and what's more, "She should have been Japanese" should be the real argument.

Tokyo Ghoul season 2 was a mess. There were parts in the manga that had been taken out of the anime that absolutely needed to be there and it made the whole thing play out horribly. Season 2 should have been at least 4 episodes longer so that it made even a lick of sense.

I agree but I do wish when a game is delayed that a reason is given at the time, and delay isn't so sudden when release is close. That often leads to more delays and several concerns. Hopefully, it won't get delayed again, but if it does I wouldn't be all that shocked.

I have my concerns about this movie If I'm being honest. It's taking one of the major aspects from dot hack and might end up ruining it. I hope it's not true, but it could easily happen.

Welcome to AF. As for anime suggestions, it kind of depends on what you've seen and how far out the genre's you mentioned you are willing to go. Either way, enjoy your stay here. This is a good place.

I know zoop was kind of looking forward to this game, was anyone else? For anyone who doesn't know, Strafe is an old school Doom style game with Rogue like elements.

Nothing wrong with enjoying a good game. That said, I've been pretty hooked on NieR: Automata and despite most people saying it has about a 40 hour play time, I've clocked in about 45 same as zoop has with Zelda. It's just that good.

I would argue that the best anime of all time isn't a series, so much as a series of films. I love anime like FMA and Hanasaku Iroha, but Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli as a whole have kept me into anime for over 20 years. Even if there was a time where I thought I was done, watching a Ghibli film always got me wanting more. There's not a single one of them that I don't enjoy, and they all, as far as I'm concerned, have less flaws than any show I've ever seen.

I can't call a game the worst because of how DLC or micro-transactions worked, because a game's rating should first and foremost be about how well it works. That means, does it lag from frame drops, do button inputs work properly, etc. With that in mind, I have to go with one of the more typical answers of, E.T. The game doesn't work well, and becomes more about working around it's faulty controls and graphics so poor, even for the time that you can't tell what's going on. It's also glitchy at bits and there's not redeemable about it at all.

I flat out got zero, and that's down to me either not watching any of these, or not having heard of them. I'll tell you what though, I'm kinda annoyed, and not because I didn't get any of these, but because they all sound exactly the damn same. Repetition at that level is just annoying, and should be discouraged.

I don't like it that much, I even watched most of the first season, and I'm still not all that into it. It's every 90's anime about going on an adventure that those of who have watched those have seen hundreds of times, mixed with current style anime action, and even that current, as several stereotypes still show up during it. It's lacks any kind of originality, and so I find myself unable to enjoy it. I've been watching it for over 20 years as it is.

I can't say I didn't do it, but i think it's best not engage Kingxaio too seriously. I believe they are simply trying to troll the forums to get a reaction out of us all. Can't say I'm shocked, it's bound to happen, but I'm not sure we should be taking them too seriously.

Dragon ball was initially inspired by a popular Chinese novel called Journey to the West. In it, there are 8 special beads that are conceived when a dog oddly enough has brief intercourse with a princess. The 8 beads have magical powers. The seven Dragon Balls in the show are a reference to that, although Toriyama thought that it wouldn't be as interesting to have there be as many Dragon Balls as the beads they referenced. That's why, he thought it would be interesting if the name of the show was based off that obscure reference, and the parts thereafter that he greatly enjoyed. Toriyama also drew reference from that book until the android saga, where he started drawing influence instead from Terminator. Since the show was originally supposed to end after the Frieza saga, it made sense at the time. Despite how much people love the overall show, anything past the Frieza saga was not originally planned, and that includes everything with GT and Super.

That, would be a problem. I don't know if it'll make a difference, but you do have until winter to get one, and hey, maybe you can get one for Christmas. It's not a requirement to play on launch.

I think anyone who has a problem with Armin is insane. He keeps the whole group together and without him, the ending of the first season would have never worked. Armin is the brains of their operation and honestly is one of the main reasons Attack on Titan is interesting at all.

This one might seem like a stretch, but hear me out for a minute. For those who don't know, dot hack a series of several anime and video games that span over several years, starting in 2010, and ending around 2019. For the sake pf this theory, we're looking at the games as they span from the first dot hack video game, to the last dot hack GU video game, aka the first game to make it to the West, to the last one that made it to the West as well as SAO's first season. Just know, that if you've never played these games or watched SAO, SPOILERS are ahead. The dot hack video game and anime characters have several huge personality traits that define them and most of their actions. From Atoli's lack of confidence which sees her turning to others for guidance, to Piros' overly hyper can do attitude, to Elk, the character who seems even weaker in personality than Atoli, as he seems barely able to hold a conversation unless it pertains to, or is with Mia, a cat character who he grows an emotional attachment with. Throughout the first four games, Elk in particular seems easy to push around, and even sometimes is by Mia but due to Kite's gentle nature, does grow a significant amount by games end, even helping Kite finish the final enemy after running away from everything, when it's found that Mia is an incarnation of the one of the bosses you have to kill to beat the game. Despite that, and seven years going by, when you meet him again in dot hack GU, he might seem strong, and even willing to stand up for himself as Endrance, but he still holds onto an item that comes off looking like a cat, similar to Mia. Later in the games you find out that the cat is also the enemy, a bit of a virus called AIDA that has manipulated Endrance, aka Elk into doing next to nothing, because he has the power to do away with the virus because he has an avatar that can eradicate the AIDA virus. Once the the virus is exposed, Endrance decides to run and hide at the location where he first encountered it, and uses his power to hide away in a crystal like state. This is, hardly a problem for the real life person that is Endrance, because he is known to have been spending almost all of his time on the game, as in, he never logs out, meaning the real life counterpart to this character has becomes a huge shut-in. Events ensue that then see Endrance teaming up with Haseo, the main character of the dot hack GU trilogy, and he claims he is there to help because Haseo said he needed him. After that, Endrance becomes obsessed with Haseo, giving him his undying loyalty and respect. However, like all things, Haseo eventually reaches his goal, and stops playing the game known as the world, and it eventually shuts down. Five years later, Endrance, who was 13 as Elk, is now in his mid 20's in 2022, the launch year of SAO, and this is where it gets interesting. The real life name of Endrance/Elk is never given in the dot hack games, and the nervegear, which works much like the gear used to play dot hack is invented, and Akihiko Kayaba has set an interesting restriction on the device, not allowing kids under the age of 13 to use it, fitting considering that the age of 13, is for all we know, the first time he ever felt happy or alive. Now, with a great understanding of video game creation he got from playing so much of dot hack, and using VR headsets, Akihiko creates a game where he can spend all, or at least most of his time in a game, where he gets to set the rules, where he is in charge for once, instead of being pushed around or, feeling stuck following others, a personality trait he gains in the 5 years between his time in the online MMO called "The World" and the opening of SAO. There is one potential flaw to this theory I admit, but I actually have that one covered. The problem would be, how could a man create a world in where his conscience, in a sense, lingers on in the game after he's passed away, but given the nature of Dot Hack, that is easily explained. See, Akihiko played the original version of the World, and was mixed up with the greatest mysteries of that experience. At one point during the game, it is revealed, that a man named Herald Hoerwick who was once in love with someone who didn't reciprocate his feelings was driven mad when she died. He in response, he hacked the first version of "The World" to create a goddess of sorts named Aura, who was the embodiment of his ideal child of his fallen love. Before he died, he hacked his own personality into an AI in the game, so that it would linger and watch as his Aura became his ideal daughter. Of course, this madness ultimately lead to the story that became dot hack, and his project, as far as his AI went, was a failure. What if though, Akihiko perfected the idea, just long enough that Kirito was able to use him to beat Oberon the Fairy King. So that's my theory. I'm not sure exactly how accurate it is, but it's an interesting thought.

There's a lot to dislike about anime, for example, poorly placed harems, the constant reuse of voices rather than allowing those with unique talent to use it properly, pace changes that don't add up, the list goes on. The one thing that bothers me the most though, is by and large the community surrounding anime, and I don't mean the fanbases of shows and genre's, I mean the perception of anime fans, and the truths that come with that as well as some of the stereotypes of the medium. Thankfully, this community has very little of that former point going on, which is nice, because I feel like I can talk about anime as it needs to be talked about, and not feel like I'm going to get bombarded by a bunch of people for even sort of challenging the perspectives and perceptions that come with being a fan, because we can discuss, and have different opinions, and that's okay. But as someone who has seen so many things that I've been a fan of for years, start dropping the negative connotations that come with liking them, I feel like anime has moved forward the least, both in how we react to it, and how it's created. I'm tired of people getting mad when you don't share their opinion, even though we should all be on the same side of pushing away the assumed idea of what an anime fan is. On the same note, I wish Japan would stop focusing so much on the sexy aspects of it's characters, or allow them to use some different voices for once. Natsu and Maka were great because they sounded different, and those different voices fit their different personalities. I want more shows like Hanasaku Iroha, which actually focus on character development above all else, and less anime that try and make you feel something by putting through the same stereotypes we've come to expect over the last 20 years. Anime has so much potential, but just like say, movies and games, which have been improving vastly for the most part every year or two, anime needs to improve as well.

There are a couple of anime here that I want to give a shot, but I also need to go back and watch previous seasons for two of them first, which means I need to get on that. Perhaps I'mm marathon them both tomorrow since I'm still waiting for a game release.
