What Did You Do In Gaming Today

I haven't been on the computer a ton today, but I did do some Neo for my daily plot points + quests. Then for some reason I played this Discord farm merge game for like an hour o_o It's not even really that fun but it was just something to do while I was laying in bed I guess.

I'm working on playing FFX now in the Bevelle area of the temple. I'm doing the cloister of trials and paused on it because it's getting on my nerves. I think I'll have to finish this later.

I started sonic adventure dx again since I never actually finished it and I have already beaten sonic and tails story. Also I mod the game to have the sonic adventure art style and all the missing content that didn’t come in dx (dx is supposed to be the better game but doesn’t add anything except new models I think and removes a lot from the base game)

Mostly done with building a library.  Still needs some interior work, including a secret room with an enchantment table, but the exterior part is done.  We're planning to staff it with about half a dozen librarians and maybe a cartographer or two as well but we won't start on that part until we get the interior work completed.

I was going to play some FFX today over lunchtime but looking for my controller I couldn't find it. I finally realized our ferret, who is named Squirrel (also his name is Sir Winston Churchill II but he gets called Squirrel), had taken my controller and hidden it  By the time I had spent almost 30 minutes looking all over for this and found it, I didn't felt like playing anymore so I settle on playing OSRS for awhile leveling hunter skill on an alt account.

So you had to hunt around and "ferret" out where your ferret had hidden it.

I just played a lil OSRS this morning, not really doing anything but chopping trees and talking to a couple friends who came to woodcut with me. But I like those moments where it's just me and a couple friends hanging out laughing and talking and it's raining outside like it was today. It's nice vibes.

Astro Bot

Started this game on Saturday and so far I think it’s super cute and love the fact that some of the little bots are dressed up as video game characters — such as Kratos from God of War.

Decided to try my hand at this game again. I seem to get so overwhelmed when it comes to this game and no idea why. I play so many similar games but this one makes my anxiety spike.

My SIL just completed another build.  This one is going to be the smithy.  We'll probably put 2 each of armorer, toolsmith, and weaponsmith villagers in there.  Maybe a couple more depending on how their trades work out when we level them up.

In case you're wondering this is a new survival game and we're building a "spawn city" near where the players start out.  Instead of the usual "break a tree" scenario new players can immediately find shelter (yes, there is even an inn) and spend some time leveling up and gearing up before heading out into the rest of the world.  We wanted a bunch of villagers to trade with but we didn't like most of the "trading hall" type buildings where the villagers are basically immobilized and trapped next to their profession blocks so we're taking larger buildings from plans we've found online and letting the villagers wander around inside.  The buildings are large enough to have multiple merchants housed in each building, along with their profession blocks and even dwelling areas with beds.  (Technically the beds are unnecessary but we preferred to do it that way for the aesthetic value.)  So far we have a church, a library, and now the smithy.

The chiseled bookshelf didn't work the way I expected.  It always outputs a redstone signal equal in strength to the position of the last slot that a book was taken out of or put into.  I decided to just have an observer watching the bookshelf and pulsing a copper bulb.  This both toggles the door open / closed and turns the light in the room on / off if you do anything with any of the books in the "secret" bookshelf.

Found Pokemon Unbound, a cool time-killer. Plowed through the first gym and ran into Ditto in the wild today. The Ditto was on 1hp and catching it still took 30s of pokeballs and random special balls.

Finally got my minecraft mods all working together, a situation not likely to last long since I'm keeping up with the nightly builds of Distant Horizons but at least for now I have iris/shaders, DH, my favorite textures, and a couple other things cooperating on my system.  Last time my shaders worked with DH was before the whole church/smithy/library buildout so I spent a couple hours wandering around just looking at things and redoing some of the lights..

The Last Remnant Remastered:

After grinding with a party of Oakes, Sandy, and McGrady since I try to use every Leader I've Employed from the Guilds in Celalapeis and Athlum which are the aforementioned and Semry. I've unlocked Baulson as soon as I was able to improve Rush and McGrady through battles to where I felt comfortable and confident enough to take on the side quest that needed to be completed in order to unlock Baulson. Now, though, I'm trying to gather enough captures monsters from Dillmoor because I'm just assuming that they sell for higher prices than the ones at Gaslin Caves and Robelia Ruins. I've got Mr. Diggs and his count is up to 6 for now (I think). I'm just before the point in the story where Rush and party goes to Blackdale to see story-related scenes and, of course, unlock Blackdale as a destination on the map. The reason I'm looking to sell the captures monsters the party gets from Dillmoor is to get the Flamberge which is in Celapaleis. After that part of the story there will be new Leaders to Employ at the Celapaleis and Athlum Guilds. At least I think there's some (or at least one) to get from each location after the Blackdale point in the story. Either way, I'll find out and say whether or not both Guilds had one/some Leaders to Employ. ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ The Flamberge is 5,200 (plus some change, but I only remember $5,200 when it comes to its price). I don't remember what Rush's funds are right now, but I do know I'll have to visit Dillmoor and sell what captured monsters I can that I get from the battles there for a good while tonight. lol Oh, and I just woke up at 4pm. rofl

Experimented a bit with crafters and made a simple logs-to-sticks contraption.  Also replaced a few lanterns and torches with copper bulbs in my keep, just to see how they look with shaders.

BTW, speaking of shaders, the popular "Complementary" shader now works with DH.  Not exactly sure when that happened but I know it did not render DH's distant blocks in 5.0.1 and now in 5.3 it does.

Picking up a copy of Silent Hill 2 Saturday so looking forward to playing that as well.
