I’m Linh. I’m 23 years old and I’m single. I was born and grew up in Cali, but I have been working in Tokyo for 5 years. I’m active. I like work related to human beings. I’m rather serious and sensitive, I can quickly catch up psychology of other people. I often read newspapers and listen to nightcore music in my free time. @existentiallylostdumbell I think you're taking this the wrong way, I do not see my life as worthless because I haven't done some life changing thing, I just see life as pointless because as the Bible says: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." -Ecclesiastes 1:9 Everything that "Changes" because of inventors, or presidents, isn't truly new ... We go around in circles, creating and destroying our works. Humans live in a world that will never be perfect, and will be destroying itself most likely. Now, you seem to think that I'm saying life is worthless therefor just do nothing because why bother? I'm actually just trying to get the point across that without religion, we're all just living a life that doesn't even matter in the end ... What is the point of that? I see life as a test, a game, and a war ... We're tested by the Devil each and every day, we then give our results to God. The game is trying to defeat our demons, trying to over come them, while also helping others over come theirs. The war is between those we can not see, as described in the Bible: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." -Ephesians 6:12 Now, although some humans have "Changed the world" with their inventions and such, are you sure they really did? The Bible says nothing is new under the sun, and as I said before, humanity just destroys their own creations time and time again ... This world is one that will go in circles, destroying and building, fighting and killing, and all humanity just following their own selfish whims because they think life was just a chance mistake and we're all able to do whatever we want ... Life without religion is a dark one, one where everyone does as they wish because what else could the point of life possibly be if not to please yourself?3 points

1. Whats something you want everyone to have in the world? A chance. Regardless of race, income, where they were raised or any of that, one thing I would want everyone to have is a chance to do what it is they want to with their lives. Sure, that may not always be a good thing, and some may commit horrible acts if given that chance, but that's what people who would like to stop people from doing such things are for, should they get their chance. 2. How would you end all wars? I'd like to lie and say I have an easy solution for that, but honestly, the question is phrased, it's almost like I'm being told to come up with one answer, despite how every war could stop with a different solution. For example, I wanted the fighting for Israel to stop, I would promise those who would try to invade it that the nuclear weapons Israel has for it's protection, would no longer be pointed their way so long as they agree to no longer attempt to invade it. In Africa, for those who fight over who owns what land, I would promise to do whatever I could to take the poor out of poverty and ultimately help it become a 1st world nation, so long as they agree to work together, and share extra resources they aren't giving the rest of the world, so that people stop dying of hunger both it their country, and in the rest of the world. It all varies depending on what brings up problems that lead to war in the first place. 3. Whats your favorite animal? Honestly, this might sound weird, but I don't have one. I thought for the longest time it was either cats or dogs, because they are the animals I have the most experience with but honestly, I like them both the same. 4. Whats your favorite vehicle? Pretty much any S class Mercedes. I have a certain respect for cars of that make and the S class has always been my favorite, hand down. As to wish S class car is my favorite, it really depends when new models come out, because that is subject to change. 5. How do you deal with sadness? A lot of ways. Listening to music, although I don't do that as often as I used to, watching things that might make me happy cry instead, posting on forums, talking with people. There's no one solution for sadness where I'm concerned, and sometimes even a mix of what I do is called for. 6. Would you help someone on AF if they were depressed? Absolutely, so long as they came to me and let me know, because I wouldn't want to assume. In my life, I've helped several people get through depression, even when it's taken years, and there has never been a greater joy in my life than when their quality of life starts improving because of my input, and the nice thing about it, is that even if it takes time, it's not difficult. It's all about reading what's told to you and knowing when to talk and when to listen. 7. Whats your hobby's? Playing games and talking about them is a big one, although I'd like to make the latter my career. Beyond that there's watching movies or anime or just looking around the internet to understand what's going on in the world. 8. Who's got it harder men or women? As a man I am taught from a young age to be stoic about my situations, and as an adult, I am reprimanded for showing almost any emotion, namely anger, when I am treated differently because of my gender. One of the worst things I have ever heard from another man I call a friend, was when a woman walked up to him and told him he should probably stop chasing his daughter around because it looks perverse. This happened while he was playing tag with her in a park, a situation that was considered completely normal when he was a kid, and one she should be able to do without people treating him like that. I myself have had people pull their kids away from me and give me dirty looks like somehow I'm a threat to them. That's absolutely insane, but it happens, and often, all because of assumptions based on gender, and I'm not supposed to react to that. I'm told that I'm not allowed to like kids because that's perverse, yet when I was a kid, leaders in my church for kids groups could be men and nowadays that almost never happens. How I am to be stoic when I'm told that it's okay that I be treated like that simply because of my gender, instead of my history. I don't enjoy people using the term white cis male un-ironically either because it sounds like a way to generalize and get revenge on all white people, even if they never supported white supremacist ideals. And here I am, meant to be stoic through all of that, because otherwise I am either weak or a criminal. A woman can get away with being abusive to her children and even in divorce, even if the husband is the better of the two options between parents he'll often lose his custody battle because he is male. I've seen it happen, and yet I'm supposed to take that like it's normal, like it's fine, like I shouldn't feel anything because something is wrong with me if I do. Men have to deal with their issues in silence because society tells them that something is wrong with them if they don't, and I'm supposed to be fine with that. Yes, there are male dominated jobs, and yes men can be paid more in the work place, and yes men often make choices for women in certain situations, but given all that men are told to deal with in silence, which is practically everything, can you blame all of them, can you really give every single man the same treatment because the ones in charge do things that the rest of us don't agree with, and we aren't allowed to speak out against them in a sense? I once had a friend tell me how much easier it is to be a man, because we don't have the same kinds of emotions that women do, but that's not really true, we're just told, to be silent. 9. Whats the best joke you have ever heard? You'll excuse me if after that last one, I don't feel like like telling jokes. 10. *Your own fact about yourself* I am statically, an anomaly. Most men who lose their fathers at an early age don't accept a religion where the god or gods are accepted as fathers, but I did. Most people aren't left handed, but I am. Most diabetics go to the doctor or get admitted to hospital 7 times or more a year for diabetic related issues, but I don't.3 points

I think this is one of those films where cutting things out of the manga, actually kind of works. Yeah in the long run you can argue there's less content here than in he manga, but the argument is as old and tired as limiting episodes of things like this when they get a season of anime dedicated to them. The parts that are cut off from the manga for this animated films are not important to this part of the story, because in the end this is all about a guy who makes mistakes that he regrets and wants to make up for them. A thing we can all relate to, but that we don't often get the chance to do. The parts that are missing from the manga are only important because they get concluded in that manga, where as here, the only parts brought up from the manga for the film are solved. Calling this movie, if anyone would do that, because it's missing parts of the manga, is like calling Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy bad because it didn't have Tom bombadil or show Mary killing an Olog-hai troll. We know that not to be true, so there no reason to think otherwise here. It's not the same, but it still tells a complete, and honestly emotional journey through the life of a child who's matured and wants to do what he can to make up for his best transgressions as best as possible, despite being criticized and hated for it sometimes even more harshly than what he himself did in the past.3 points

Yes, I must admit I didn't actually know about this feature until @zoop mentioned it. Maybe we can set it as the default. I will also work on styling the bar to make it match with the latest Heiki theme. :noire-crazy:3 points

When watching a Tv show or reading a book, how long does it usually take for you to become obsessed with the story or a character? Do you rarely ever get obsessed with characters, or do you have so many characters you love that you can barely remember them all? What kind of a fangirl are you? The kind that silently obsesses about their favorite characters, the kind that outwardly expresses their fangirling with squeals or such other things, or maybe you're the kind that only obsesses mildly and enjoys chatting with others in a normal way about your favorite characters ... Either way, feel free to talk about your favorite characters/plots and talk about how much of a fangirl you are, in this thread. Go ahead and fangirl over anything, anime related or not. Now, let the fangirling ... BEGIN!2 points

I find that you are very wise in not rejecting the possibility of there to be Objective truth. I hope that when you do go searching in them that you find that, the Bible is the only one among millions/billions of gods and religions which do not require you to become perfect to be loved by God. "The case for Christ" is a highly recommended documentary/book for you if you truly are interested in finding out if there is truly evidence for Jesus Christ and Him being God. Because if it is true then you have found a treasure that is beyond anything that you can comprehend, but if it isn't true then you can rest assured that you are living life the best way you can.2 points

I haven't seen the finale yet (nor the last few episodes, I think I've missed the past 2-3) so this is kinda disappointing for me to read. I haven't liked this season at all and Eren being revealed to have a new power just isn't going to make it remediable to me - especially if the season ends on a cliff hanger. I'll keep up with what ya'll say about it but unfortunately I have too many other things I could be doing than watching a show get emotional about characters I don't really care about and then trying to win me back with something cool for the character I do care about, only to leave me hanging for a year.2 points

To be honest I don't ever really think about it. If a movie seems to catch my attention I'll watch it regardless of whether it's popular and I won't watch something that doesn't look interesting even if it is considered "required viewing". That said I typically think popular anime movies are popular for a reason - due to quality of animation/voice acting/story/what have you so I suppose those are the ones I most often watch or at very least are the ones I revisit time and time again.2 points

Breaking bad: All of it Too many scenes to list, the whole show was perfect. Prison break: Elephants! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQRXdIyZY0g This is probably my all-time favorite Prison break scene, although there were so many other good ones as well. My little pony: Twilight vs Tirek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rgYeWZMyeY I love MLP, so many good scenes, but this scene is so epic! I started crying just watching it again, so epic, watched it so long ago, good memory's. The 100: King Roan conclave fight scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFCEgBHiKqU Honestly, all of Roan's scenes could be listed here, but I love this scene, just so cool. The 100 show is great.2 points

I'm not surprised. I heard it was a problem with Higurashi's anime adaptation too, though the source VN was relatively less dense and reliant on a ton of connections, so compressing it had less of an effect. Even then, I've seen plenty of Higurashi fans who are dissatisfied with it, though not to the degree that UMineko VN fans tends to be dissatisfied with the Umineko anime. Then there's the whole red/blue text thing. I hope you try it and enjoy it.2 points

1. Whats something you want everyone to have in the world? for everyone to have quality of life, (physical health, family, education, employment, wealth, religious beliefs, finance and the environment) 2. How would you end all wars? the only way to end wars is to stop human nature. human nature causes wars. War results from selfishness and from misdirected aggressive impulses 3. Whats your favorite animal? i like many ...ill name a few...Tigers, Lions, Wolfs, Snow leopards *_* 4. Whats your favorite vehicle? i like many... but this is one of my faves ..Nissan Skyline GTR R35, 5. How do you deal with sadness? when i get sad it doesn't last very long, generally only a few hours, this is due to my busy schedule, i often work 2 jobs, when im not doing that i go to the gym. so i guess when i upset due to being busy it passes as i need to concentrate on other things. but i must say the gym helps a lot if i have ever felt down after the gym session im fine. 6. Would you help someone on AF if they were depressed? yes for sure, im happy for anyone to approach me, i like to talk a lot.. and im a good listener, i may not have the right answers but i will definitely try and help. 7. Whats your hobby's? Lifting weights, Anime, Football(Soccer) technology, games(don't really have much time for games anymore) 8. Who's got it harder men or women? every person is going to be different so its very hard to answer, i will say both genders have it tough. 9. Whats the best joke you have ever heard? Nate the Snake. You can find it at: I would love to tell you, but it cannot be said here. 10. *Your own fact about yourself* hmmm, well i didn't do great at school, was told i wouldn't achieve much, i like to say i have proven them wrong, doing better than was predicted. what i would like to say is, school isn't everything, its what you do once you leave school. It certainly helps if you do well, but it will not determine your future.2 points

Hi @RepentantSky, point taken. The current dilemma though is the preview excerpt displays the first 200 characters of the first post. So unless the thread starter takes care not to put spoilers in the first 200 characters, other visitors could be exposed to spoilers if the visitor isn't up to date or familiar with the series. I think it can also be assumed that any threads in this area would very likely have spoilers (which we mention in our Forum Guidelines).2 points

I honestly don't look in that section too often. But I would say hide the preview text, simply for the case of potential spoilers showing up in the preview2 points

I chose it because I really love cats, especially white cats they look so adorable and cute. :3 and my nickname is Neko in real life because of my behavior... my friends gave it to me. Aye, like I said, I think it makes sense to simply clarify that it isn't an official extension of the forum, and that it's no real different than any other Discord server. I think a lot of people think, seeing the invite link in the bulletin board (and, previously, the Discord users sidebar component) that it's closely and tightly linked and interconnected, that they both fall under Optic's purview, and that the same rules from the forum apply in the same ways. If this isn't the case - and it doesn't sound like it, given that Optic wasn't the original creator - then I think it should simply be made a little more clear. To address that, I'd simply remove the thread in the Bulletin Board in which it was introduced, and treat advertising for it as being no different than advertising for anything else - basically just limit it to signatures and profiles. I guess the server name could be clarified to state that it's an unofficial thing, but that's really up to the owner I suppose. At the end of the day, AF is a forum, so I just think it makes sense to not de-emphasize this in any way.1 point

I don't see a reason to do that, but I do think when a new thread is made there, that "spoilers" should always be a part of the title of any thread in there, or that a thread should start with a line that spoilers are ahead. Honestly, I don't agree with ever hiding text for any reason and the inclusion of something like that would either lower, or completely stop my chances of showing up in threads that have it.1 point

@ItsSammy If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that in comparison to the meaning we find in the afterlife, the only meaningful thing we can do is something as grandiose as changing the world. Look around you then, all of the technology and social progress that has occurred sits on the backs of great people, people who changed the world. Every day we change the world a great deal, we are collectively on the brink of making this world uninhabitable for the sake of industry. However, nothing we have achieved up until this point would have been possible without the efforts of many different people including those worker bees. Henry Woodward may have been the inventor of the light bulb, but without the efforts of Thomas Edison, and all of the factory workers of today, we would not have light bulbs. What you seem to be having difficulty with then is not existence itself, but your existence. The fact that you are not someone who has "changed the world", yet. I understand, sometimes I used to think to myself that the adult world was full of nothing but miserable fucks, slaving away purposelessly every day. Now I think that the world is full of lost people, who don't really know alot more about life and it's purpose than I do, but like to pretend they do. As a religious person, I'm sure you believe your God had a purpose when he made this world and you, so saying the act of existence is worthless is contradictory. You've asked me what we as humans are meant to do, and my answer to that question is "fuck if I know", I don't believe in fate to begin with. It seems to me that you have difficulty living with ambiguity, the truth is we will never know any of these things, while we are still alive anyhow. Wouldn't life be dull if we had all the answers? Would there be any reason to strive, any reason to worry? Purpose is something we find within ourselves, being told what our purpose is in my mind is akin to slavery. Does it matter what we do with our lives? Objectively, no, nothing matters, but if nothing matters we have the freedom to decide what matters. Hope is nothing more than the belief in possibilities, it is a perhaps, without it, we'd all just resign ourselves to our "place" in life and be miserable. Nothing in this world is set in stone. You are right to believe much is wrong with the world, society and how we live our lives, much is wrong with it. I don't mean to say blindly hope without taking into account the reality before you, but you've got to hope for something; when it comes down to it, that might be all that keeps you alive. Do I think that all humans are good people? No, I believe we are what we make of ourselves and are neither inherently good or bad. There are evil people and there are good people, but that really just comes down to the choices they were given and which ones they took. We all die, all things are ground to dust with time, no matter how grand, it is unavoidable. From my perspective that is the one thing that can take away meaning and the one thing that gives life meaning, because if we lived forever, would anything we do really matter?1 point

That's pretty much how a lot of anime adaptations are, especially with the tired trend of 12-13 episode shows, not that it makes it any better. What were some of things that were omitted? UPDATE: I went searching around, and for anyone wondering the same thing I did, this video should explain what I was asking about, as the person in the video has seen the movie and read the manga. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAMQxBeMU4s1 point

I would disagree. We are all different. At least i would disagree concerning someone changing you. Absurdity..only you can change yourself. Allowing someone else to change you, just shows your weak mentality...sorry if my words are a bit harsh. But thats my personal opinion, you may or may not agree with it. Allowing someone to change you...can you really call yourself YOU anymore then in that case.? We are who we are, for what we are..if you believe you should change for YOURSELF...make something better about you, thats fine. Changing something about you on your own will and because you want to ..is fine. But allowing someone else to change you..is absurd.1 point
