  1. I'm mad at myself for not thinking of this... I JUST played a game that if you went and 'talked to' a scarecrow and it said this!
  2. I just finished watching Bakuman a week or two ago, and I really recommend it. It was three seasons for 75 episodes. It was really interesting. I read about it, and they said nothing in it is "Based on a true story", but some things are loosely based on things that really did happen at/with Shonen Jump. (Called Shonen Jack in the anime... but for some reason, "Naruto", "One Piece", ect still get referenced by name and art from time to time, which is odd to me, that they couldn't say Shonen Jump but could say those names.)
  3. Welcome to the forum! I am socially awkward too and always trying to make friends. Have fun!
  4. I couldn't find a rule against posting twice in a row, so hopefully this is okay ^^. (Some forums do have that rule). I went ahead and updated my list. Changed a lot of Tens to lower, a lot of which I thought of as 10s at the time but now that time has passed, not as much. But I also added some new 10s... Also, like I said I hadn't updated since 2018, so I added a bunch that I know I've watched, but I might have missed some in there somewhere. One one hand I don't think I could forget many, but on the other hand, I went and looked at my funimation history as far as it would go, (Last fall) I found 2-3 that I had completely forgotten I watched... guess we see how much I liked those... So who knows how many others I forgot. But I also rewatch a lot of anime more than I watch new stuff (Trying to break out of that habit though). So this really could be about it. https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Takatofan1986
  5. Can someone tell me the lowest rank in the military? I keep asking, but they just tell me, "It's private."
  6. I'm a bad rater ^^. I haven't even tried to log in yet, i think I need to reset the password. One of these days I'll work on it and add newer stuff I've watched and post it again. I also just get really excited about certain anime, and some I get stuck on nostalgia goggles.
  7. So... in 2018 My Anime List, which until then I had used pretty faithfully, got hacked. It was unusable for a couple months, and by the time it was fixed, (And I had been watching a lot of anime in that time) I never went back and started it up again. Maybe one of these days I'll go back and update it. But for now, here's My Anime List, as of 2018. https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Takatofan1986
  8. Thanks! Several of these look interesting.
  9. I started watching Stars-Align. It's really good so far, deeper themes than I expected.
  10. So I have aspergers and I latch on to movies, so there aren't many movies that don't make me feel nostalgic in some way. But here are a few big ones for me: Mrs. Doubtfire - Pretty sure the last movie my family watched together as a family, before my parents got divorced. .... I never really thought about it, but that is kind of Ironic... (When Mrs. Doubtfire flipped off Stu, I turned to my Dad, and I was 7 btw, and flipped him off. ) A Goofy Movie - In a rare move, someone bought me a movie for my birthday I didn't ask for. I had no interest in this. But I lived at my grandparents at the time after the divorce, and they had one of those GIANT 80s satellites... (Not this EXACTLY but basically...) Anyway, the one they had MOVED to different "Galaxies", each one having 25 channels. Well one day it broke and wouldn't move anymore. So, reluctantly and bored, I went and watched A Goofy Movie... still one of my favorite movies to this day. So much deeper than what you'd think "A Goofy Movie" would be. My mom ran a movie theater from late 95-mid 98. I spent a lot of time there, and watched tons of movies. I saw several movies early in the morning, before they were shown to the public, in the theater by myself, like Liar Liar. (Me and my brother spent the night there by ourselves watching Batman and Robin before anyone else... but I dunno how much I want to brag about Batman and Robin... ^^... though I did enjoy it as a 10 year old...) But here are the two biggest nostalgia movies from that time. (I could name a LOT.) Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery - Still one of my favorite movies, I loved watching this, and one night as we were closing the theater, me and my mom started talking about it, and her bf at the time who also worked there was like "I still haven't watched that..." And so we went back in and watched it by ourselves! The Wedding Singer - Set aside this is my favorite movie, and by far my favorite Adam Sandler movie... Regardless of all that, this movie, set in 1985, got me SO OBSESSED with the 80s! A long lasting obsession that didn't even start to wear off until 04/05 (it came out in 98). The Wedding Singer had two soundtracks, and after loving them so much, I started buying random 80s mix tapes, watched another '80s movie', Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, got those soundtracks, started listening to 80s radio stations... and I still love 80s music to this day, I just don't sit and listen to it as often. I could name a lot more, but that's enough for now, I think XD.
  11. I dropped Naruto Shippuden, back in 2009. All-Out! - I really like sports anime, but I just found this one to be boring. Food Wars! - I'm not a prude but there was just way too much fan service for me. I really wanted to keep watching, and I did for a while, but I just couldn't take it after a while. I'm sure there are others, but that's all that comes to mind.
  12. This is really hard... gonna try and order them... .... Okay, but honorable mentions: Cowboy Bebop, Moyashimon, and D.N.Angel 10. Hajime No Ippo 9. The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. 8. Detective Academy Q 7. Eyeshield 21 6. Hikaru No Go 5. Fullmetal Alchemist (+Brotherhood, but I love the original too.) 4. Space Dandy 3. Yakitate!! Japan 2. My Hero Academia 1. Digimon Tamers (I love a few other seasons, but that's the one that stands out.)
  13. What is the most ridiculous nightmare you have ever had? When I was a kid, I had a recurring theme dream of a Pink Cat that was trying to kill me - even though in my dreams the most menacing thing it did to me that I recall is growling at me. (And, it thinking about it more as an adult, I'm not sure it really was a cat, it was just how I described it at the time.) As I got older, I realized it was based on something from a really old Nickelodeon show, that went off the air when I was 3 in 1990, but I still remember it, called Kids Court. The 'Judge' was a pinkish white thing, with meters for eyes - the meters would move as the kids would scream if they agreed or disagreed with the kid - and it REALLY freaked me out as a kid, especially the meters moving with the screaming. I remember running from the room. But the cat was bright pink, had blonde hair on top its head, and a blonde tail (Like a horse) and meters for eyes. Though, I'm almost positive I started having these nightmares before 1993 (and the show went off in 1990) The meters for eyes on the cat in my dream looked more like the meters for eyes of this character from a cartoon I was obsessed with in late 1993... but maybe I saw something similar somewhere else? (Or even just these kinds of meters somewhere else) (Wow, seeing this picture after not seeing the show in so long, even feels weird seeing those eyes...) Tell us an embarrassing story. I have too many XD. For sfw stories... though still a little bad but just wont go into details... Back at the very beginning of 2002, I made my very first online best friend. And... I don't know what possessed me to do it, and didn't do it for (many) other online friends at the time (Maybe one other a couple years later?) that I thought it would be fun if I called them. So I started buying phone cards and calling them a lot - because back then long distance wasn't standard like it is now with cell phones. So you had to dial a 1 800 number, then below it you had to enter a pin that was the same length as the 800 number, and then dial the number of the person you want to call. So after about a year and a half of doing this and never messing up... (Or at least never messing up with this reaction...) I dialed 1-800- *Looks down at card* - ### -... And when I looked down again, apparently I looked at the last 4 of the pin instead of the number and.... ....It was a sex hotline o.o .... and it wasn't like, "You've reached_______" It was RIGHT INTO IT.... things I didn't even understand yet XD (I had just turned 15 and was not knowledgeable). No one else heard, but I was super embarrassed and hung up... ... ... .... ... and then I called back intentionally for a minute because I thought it was funny ^^. (Like, the woman, IMO was badly overacting). Explain an inside joke you have with a friend or family member. My ex, who was German, (And their English was generally good) the first time they came here, they had a list of food they wanted to take back home, and one of the things they wanted was "Graham Crackers", but as they are looking for it in the store, they say it out loud, but they pronounces it: "Gray-Ham". To this day, even after the breakup... when we go out of town, we pass this place with a white sign that says "Graham Farms", and for years, but even to this day, when we see it, me and my mom will yell "Gray-ham!" If your pet could talk, what do you think they might say about you? "You're lucky I'm not pink..." No XD. I have no idea. XD The cat seems to really like me... until she doesn't XD Tell me your life story in exactly one sentence. I'm not crazy, I'm just a little Unwell. What is the strangest coincidence that ever happened to you? (I don't believe in coincidence, but God. Especially in this situation, because of the bigger part of the story, but this is the short version). But in 2001, my favorite band (Still my favorite band.) was on tour, and they were doing a radio give away for tickets. (And my family didn't have the extra money at the time.) Well, I was away at Church Camp and I knew they were doing that all week, so I told my family they should win me tickets. Well, my sister was late going to work, and she heard the clue, and then she was late getting off work, and she heard the number to call in with the clue, and THEN, she was in the middle of nowhere, her cell phone JUST came in service! She won the tickets! Fun concert! What is your favorite random fact? Weird Al is one of only 3 other acts (last I heard) to have a top 40 hit in the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. (The others being Madonna, U2, and Michael Jackson.) What is your useless talent? With my aspergers, I remember the most useless things, too many things to name. But when it came to studying... couldn't remember a thing. What is the strangest food combination you enjoy? Any kind of pasta (with pasta/marinara sauce) mixed with Cottage Cheese. - I don't always do it, but it's good! What would your drag queen name be? Buck Naked. (Okay I stole that from George Costanza...) If you could choose one superpower, what would it be? Creation? (It's a superpower in My Hero Academia) What is your strangest irrational fear? Too many to name.
  14. If ancestors/grandchildren is the only options, I guess I'll take ancestors because I'm almost completely positive I won't have any kids. (And I would like to meet them!) Would you rather be blind or deaf? (I've randomly thought about this a lot in my life - as much as it would suck to be blind, I couldn't live without music!)
  15. Jazz is one of those things that I really like, but I don't go out of my way to look for. I just don't think about it usually. .... now I'm suddenly like, "Why not? I should!"
  16. I've been replaying the Ratchet and Clank series, which is one of my favorite series. Currently on the second one, "Going Commando." I got a PS5 at the beginning of May, so I could finally play the new one, but I was still in deep depression over my breakup, and I know from experience that the first time you play a new game, memories stick with you, and I did NOT want the game I had been waiting for (And really, there hasn't been a new, full ratchet and clank game since 2009, so been waiting in that regard for a LONG time!) to be ruined by association of bad memories. But the last few weeks ive been getting better, still not 100%, but I've decided to reply the series as 'comfort gaming' and hoping/assuming that by the time I'm done, I'll be well enough to play the new one. (I'm playing them kind of slow, and I think I'm going to play going commando and everything after twice, for challenge mode. The first one didn't really have a challenge mode.) Side note: Series has some of the best names: Going commando, Up Your Arsenal, Size Matters... The last full game was called "A Crack In Time", but supposedly, as it did revolve around a clock, they wanted to call it "Clock Blockers" and Sony said NO WAY.
  17. I'm really starting to think we're in the same state, because it's the same here. (And several other of your updates have been the same)
  18. I just started watching "Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun". Only on the second episode, and the jury is still out on this one. I actually really like sports anime, even though I don't care for sports IRL, and Comedy is my favorite kind, but so far... there has been funny moments but nothing laugh out loud hilarious. I'll still give it a few episodes though. You aren't a loser! I personally gave up on Naruto, but I even get nostalgic sometimes and think about re-watching the first 100-130 eps or so of the first series. (I watched into the first 150 eps of Shippuden before I quit.)
