  1. So in addition to the Shield Hero crew getting some more screen time, Seiya & Ristarte from Cautious Hero make a cameo?!

    Isekai Sextet? 😂

Shield Hero is probably the next series I'll start after I finish Shiki.

  2. Lots more Rimuru ahead. Season 2 will be split in half, part 1 airing October - December 2020 & part 2 April - July 2021. Inbetween, a spinoff/parody series will air https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-03-22/that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime-anime-season-2-has-split-cours-run-in-october-april/.157755 https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2020/03/21-1/its-storytime-with-rimuru-as-the-slime-diaries-gets-tv-anime-adaptation-in-january-2021 And there’s also a 3 part OAV story about the time he spent with Shizu’s students. Will most likely be on Crunchyroll, but timing TBD.
  3. The new version will be complete if nothing else which wasn’t true of the original anime. As far as “better”, the original honestly didn’t make much of an impression on me. We had pretty active discussions here and I don’t remember anyone who was a fan of the manga having any criticism, so I would say most people consider it an improvement. Feel free to join us here once you catch up https://animeforums.net/topic/6026-thoughts-on-the-latest-episode-of-fruits-basket/page/5/#comments I believe season 2 is scheduled to begin April 6.

  5. So apparently some details for the upcoming Demon Slayer film will be announced on April 10th. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2020/03/22-1/details-of-demon-slayer-mugen-train-film-to-be-revealed-on-april-10
  6. Eri’s reaction is definitely a high point, not just of the arc, but the season. And Mirio & Midoriya tearing up (couldn’t ask for a better pair of “big brothers”). I wish the actual animation of Class 1A’s performance had been better, but at least they didn’t resort to the wonky looking CGI a lot of idol series use I did like the bit about Jiro’s background. That her love of music has a connection to her parents & she actually had conflicted feelings about becoming a hero vs a performer. But it’s not necessarily an either/or situation. Still mixed feelings about Gentle & La Brava. Can’t help but wonder if it wouldn’t have worked better to keep them strictly comedic characters. While giving them a chance to reform has potential, the more seriously they try to portray them, the more the awkward aspects of their relationship stand out. I thought they would devote the last 2 episodes of the season to a mini arc on the titan-esque villain we saw earlier, but looks like the emphasis next week will be on adult heroes like Endeavor & Hawk (who played a minor role in Heroes Rising).
  7. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here As a fan of Demon Slayer, you might like a series called Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. Likewise since you enjoyed the original FLCL, I would recommend Darling in the Franxx & Planet With.
  8. “Well, fitting in with society can suck it. I know, I can be a hermit when I grow up. I mean, friends would be nice, but ...” — Midori Asakusa from Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken.

I think I’ve found my new spirit animal :P

  9. CR & Funi have begone listing their official licenses for the season (pages should update as titles are announced) https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-feature/2020/03/20-1/crunchyroll-announces-spring-2020-anime-lineup?utm_source=editorial_cr&utm_medium=top-bar&utm_campaign=q2-2020&referrer=editorial_cr_top-bar_q2-2020_arrow https://www.funimation.com/blog/2020/03/05/spring-2020-anime-season-funimation-fruits-basket-listeners-no-guns-life/
  10. An anime movie, yes. As opposed to an anime series or OVA.
  11. It rained hard enough last night that some roads are closed for high water (had to detour to work) Currently 65F before 9am, but below freezing tonight & not supposed to make it out of the 40s all weekend. Welcome spring
  12. @1xa5 Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here @Cyan Some of my favorite romcoms: Science Fell in Love, so I Tried to Prove It Recovery of an MMO Junkie Kaguya-sama: Love is War feel free to stick around
  13. Pop the whole thing in my mouth Chew Swallow Repeat Favorite flavors: Double Stuf Original & Thin Lemon
  14. If by thriller you mean shows with a lot of suspense/keeps you on edge: ID:Invaded (currently airing — a cross between The Cell & Silence of the Lambs) Re:Zero (rebroadcast of season 1 ongoing, season 2 in July — warning: pretty dark/gruesome) The Promised Neverland Attack on Titan Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Shiki Monster Paranoia Agent Perfect Blue (movie) Higurashi/When They Cry
  15. My most recent one was My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. Definitely an exciting/uplifting movie that I enjoyed alot (even with all the shonen tropes ) The most recent original movie (not tied to an existing franchise) was Promare which I consider hugely overhyped. For a list of my favorite anime movies https://animeforums.net/topic/11369-favorite-anime-movie/ In regards to Your Name, I haven’t seen but have heard it’s a real tearjerker.
  16. New subtitled trailer for season 2 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-03-18/fruits-basket-anime-season-2-full-trailer-subtitled-in-english/.157626
  17. The art style is probably the biggest factor for me. If the cover catches my eye, I’ll flip through the book itself & if I like what I see, I’ll read the first chapter or so to see if it seems like something I’d enjoy.
  18. Corona may have eclipsed Guinness this year, but Happy St. Patty’s anyway

  19. If anyone is looking for something to watch appropriate for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day I recommend The Ancient Magus Bride as it has a number of creatures from Celtic mythology (banshee, leanan sidhe, etc.) While it’s not anime, the animated film The Secret of Kells also works.

      Love that show.

  21. No extra time off for me either. Hoping that the 2nd seasons of Fruits Basket & Ascendence of a Bookworm don’t run into production delays because if it. I want the staff to be safe of course, but those are the 2 main ones I’m looking forward to in the upcoming season. As far as backlog stuff I’d probably tackle Fate Stay Night & follow it up with Unlimited Bladeworks. I watched Fate Zero last year & loved it but FGO & the Waver as an adult one were disappointing. Then probably Saga of Tanya the Evil since it’s the last of the Isekai Quartet series I haven’t seen. When I’m ready for something lighter, that’s probably the next one I’ll watch (I’d watched the first 6 episodes or so previously)
