  1. I’d mentioned it in other topics, but I would like to see Battle Angel Alita get a full anime adaption as the old 2 ep OVA barely scratched the surface & it was one of the few manga series I was really into. While I wasn’t a fan of the live action movie, it did seem to get some positive attention, so maybe it could happen.
  2. Watched the 1st episode of Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita (aka Science Fell in Love, so They Tried to Prove it). While I can see some people being annoyed by it’s science nerd humor, I rather enjoyed it Looks like CR dropped 3 episodes at once, have to check out the others tomorrow.
  3. Beastars comes to Netflix 03/13 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2020-01-13/beastars-anime-premieres-on-netflix-outside-of-japan-on-march-13/.155311
  4. Watched the 1st episode of In/Spectre (Kyokou Suiri) over the weekend and enjoyed it alot
  5. Welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy it here
  6. Not necessarily the best, but easily the most nostalgic for me & matches the epicness of EVA’s IMO Some recent favorites (amazed that the first 2 are by the same artist) Really like the simplicity & harmony on this one (and it’s by the VA’s fir the main characters)
  7. ^ Knew I should’ve gone with the girls from Kancolle or Azur Lane
  8. Star Blazers way back in the late 70s or early 80s. Would even wake up early during summer break so I wouldn’t miss it. Didn’t get into the unedited stuff till the 90’s. Probably Ranma 1/2 or Project A-ko. Then stuff like Tenchi Universe & Slayers.
  9. My most recent fave has to be Iruma & Ameri
  10. Heroes Rising is coming to North American theaters 02/26. Tickets go on sale 01/31. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-01-10/my-hero-academia-heroes-rising-film-opens-in-u.s-canada-on-february-26/.155224
  11. For the past couple years, most of the anime I’ve watched have been simulcasts , but I have a pretty significant backlog pile of older series (despite watching anime for a very long time ). Was wondering what are some older titles that other members want to finally get around to watching in 2020? For me: Fate Stay Night (original & UBW); Saga of Tanya the Evil; Ajin; & the Chimera Ant arc of Hunter x Hunter. I’m currently watching the rebroadcast of Re:ZERO’s 1st season. As a side note, in 2019 I finally watched Madoka; Fate Zero; & all of When They Cry.
  12. Supposed to rain nonstop for the next 2 days. On the positive, it’s warm for this time of year (close to 60 F)
  13. Afraid I don’t do a lot of manga anymore, but as far as anime I would recommend checking out the remake of Fruits Basket that started last year (supposed to continue sometime this year and eventually cover the entire manga storyline). For something a bit older maybe Kobato. And even though I haven’t seen it yet, I’ve heard very good things about Snow White With Red Hair.
  14. While the episode itself wasn’t all that exciting, it definitely piqued my curiosity. Specifically with the level of individuality attributed to the NPCs (Tians) & the extent to which a players’ actions can change the game’s world
  15. Word of warning: anyone who found 7 Deadly Sins too pervy needs to avoid Plunderer Bofuri is CGDVRMMO First episode was enjoyable enough, but they’re going to have to shake things up a bit to keep it from getting stale (at least it’s not another isekai since she can log out) Disappointed by 1st ep of Orphen. Hadn’t watched the original series, but PVs made it look kinda interesting. 3 episode rule in effect. Magia Record - visually impressive, need to see more to make up my mind about characters/story. You need to have seen Madoka to really get. Seton Academy - need to turn off your brain if you want to enjoy. Even then found it pretty annoying at first. Warmed a bit to it later, so will give at least one more week. Continuing to enjoy the Re:ZERO rebroadcast (though it’s new to me )
  16. ^ Translation came back as “cosplay”. Don’t know the series, but will maybe help someone identify it for you.
  17. Keep Your Hands of Eizouken seems like it will be one of the season’s most “unique” series. Focusing on a couple girls who aspire to be animators in order to share the worlds they see in their imaginations. The art style may put some people off, but it’s clearly an stylistic choice. I wasn’t as “wow-ed” by it as some on CR, but still see how it really stands out.
  18. I’m not familiar with the LNs but had watched the original anime & was largely confused by it. I had an easier time with the update, but yeah, was obvious parts were being left out. I enjoyed certain arcs a good bit, but others not so much. I think my favorite was with Scarecrow & Pigeon and wish it had been longer. Really enjoyed tge opening & closing songs for the 2019 version.
  19. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here
  20. Watched the first 2 episodes ID: Invaded. A futuristic police/mystery series with virtual environments figuring prominently in the investigations (haven’t seen any of Psycho Pass so not sure how they compare). Have barely scratched the surface of the characters personalities and backstories, but I see some interesting potential. I was particularly impressed by rookie girl Also interesting is the possibility of a central figure “creating” serial killers. The amount of technical jargon as a bit offputting though. Thinking this one may be more suited to binging than watching weekly.
  21. Rewatched Black Fox & think I enjoyed it even more the 2nd time. Hope we get more of it someday
  22. Glad you found your way here. Hope you enjoy yourself
