I would also like to recommend checking out My Roommate is s Cat about an extremely introverted writer who takes in a stay cat after the death of his parents.

Since you’re enjoying Claymore, you might also like Dororo. Ushio & Tora is another supernatural shonen series. Both are recent updates of older series.

I think the apparent lack of strategy is largely due to both sides trying to keep up appearances. The really bad stuff Overhaul’s group is doing goes on in the underground complex which is probably where most of the security measures are. Plus the entrances/exits are probably hidden and apparently the place is a huge maze, so they probably thought it was reasonably secure (would be if Nighteye hadn’t been able to use his Foresight ability, even then they only know a fraction of what’s down there). As it stands, they intend to have their main enforcers hold off the police/heroes while they destroy any evidence and escape with Eri. Though the excuse that the enforcers were acting on their own and not following orders seems implausible. On the police/heroes side of things, while they’re aware Overhaul’s group are criminals, they still need to do things by the book. The League of Villains are more like terrorists, so if they can connect them to Overhaul’s group they can probably forego a lot of the procedures. Also if they can find evidence of what they suspect is going on with Eri, they could at least take her into protective custody, which would seem to put an end to his biggest plans. One thing that didn’t seem right to me is that Nighteye is apparently pretty famous (has his own agency & a former sidekick of Allmight). You’d think the guy taking care of Eri would recognize him, even if the nature of his quirk isn’t public. On an unrelated note, I actually liked the brief interaction between Midoriya, Iida & Todoroki. Considering everything the three of them went through related to the Stain incident, it makes sense they would have a special empathy for what Midoriya’s going through at the moment.

Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here. Love your avi, by the way: looks like the Apple logo, then when you look closer you can see Ryuk’s profile. Of the series you mentioned, Cowboy Bebop & Fullmetal Alchemist are shorter, so you can finish them quicker. Cowboy Bebop is one of my all time faves. Fullmetal Alchemist has 2 versions that have some similar scenes, but wind up being very different stories. I personally prefer Brotherhood, but some people like the original better. Each version has a separate movie as well. It looks like you’ve watched mostly shonen titles. A couple of the most popular right now are My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone & Kimetsu no Yaiba. Some others I enjoyed are Ushio & Tora and Buso Renkin. For something similar to Death Note, try to find Monster somewhere for it’s battle of wits (The Promised Neverland will probably work too). For series with scheming/manipulative MCs there’s Code Geass, Overlord & Saga of Tanya the Evil. Anyway, hope you stick around

I use the geological method of organization: the most recent ones I’ve bought the closest to the surface, and the more strata you dig through, the older (actually that’s how I organize most things, not just anime & manga) Seriously, I still have stuff in moving boxes and that was almost 3 years ago. Of course my collection numbers in the hundreds of discs, though a lot if them are from when they only sold 4 - 6 episodes at a time. Anymore I primarily stream instead of looking for the discs, but I like to have the physical copies, because you never know when the streaming service could take a title down. As far as the decrease in activity, I wonder if part of it is they’re not as excited about this seasons shows as they were about Fruits Basket & Kimetsu no Yaiba. Also, a lot of titles wound up on Funimation/Hulu instead of CR. I actually prefer the interaction on small forums, as I mainly lurk on the larger ones. I do hope things get back to the level of earlier in the year, though.

My favorite overall character is Deku. For why, see my post in the My Hero Academia main topic earlier today. As far as the adults, I think probably Eraserhead (sorry Allmight ) Favorite quirk would probably be Darkshadow (reminds me of the Venom symbiote in a way) though the possibility of it running amok like during the training camp attack is a problem -_-;

In addition to the currently airing stuff I watch weekly, I’m going to try to finally cross Puella Magica Madoka off my PTW list since there’s a new series coming in January. Also need to catch-up/finish Vinland Saga and Carole & Tuesday before the end of the year.

@efaardvark Is the weather I’m hearing about out there having any impact on your plans?

The only movie I plan to see in theater anytime soon is Rise of Skywalker, and and at this point it’s more about being a completionist than actually looking forward to it. Episodes IV - VI as a whole are probably my all time favorite movies, but I honestly don’t expect them to be able to clean up the mess that was The Last Jedi (of course I thought the same thing after Attack of the Clones but Revenge of the Sith was at least decent). To give you an idea of how burned out I am, I’m not even interested in the Mandolorian.

While I haven’t read the manga, it seems to me the direction things are heading is that Deku realizes he needs to stop thinking of things in terms of “What would Allmight do?” Instead of just going toe to toe with his opponent until one of their bodies give out, he needs to figure out more innovative ways of using his quirk. He’s already demonstrated a gift for analyzing situations as well as the quirks of his opponents and allies and coming up with workable strategies. I also think Deku will be more the type to fight alongside others & be more inclusive rather than largely acting solo or with the occasional “sidekick”. He’s already earned the respect and trust of many people he’s met and in recent episodes even Allmight said he’s inspired him to overcome Sir Nighteye’s prediction.

@Illusion of Terra despite watching Sesame Street & Captain Kangaroo as a kid, can’t say I was ever a fan of Mr. Rogers personally. Not sure why, but Tom Hanks sounded like kind of an odd choice for the role somehow.

Spend time with family, though it’s different since my parents passed. We don’t do the big home cooked meal anymore, instead going out to eat with my sister & her husband and kids. Usually invite along some friends who don’t have extended families nearby (think there will be about 10 of us this year). Afterwards, go back to one of our houses and talk/reminisce (and snack of course). Maybe watch a holiday movie together. My dad was the only one who was really into all the football games

So seems like a lot of new content is in the works: Season 2 is supposed to debut sometime in 2020, though an exact date hasn’t been set. A 2nd OVA episode is supposed to become available on CR & Funi’s sites on 12/4/19, though it’s sounds like it will be an excuse for fanservice more than anything (similar to the 1st one) And an article on ANN says a 3 part OVA story involving Rimuru teaching Shizu’s students is in the works https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-11-26/that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime-anime-gets-3-more-original-anime-dvds/.153702 While not guaranteed, the fact that the other OVAs have been made available online make it likely they will be too.

Agreed 100% The series has a number of similarities to spaghetti westerns most notably, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. And I think Sugimoto & Asirpa reminds me a bit of True Grit. “Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the Battle of 203 Hill in the Russo-Japanese War, works as a miner in Hokkaido in order to provide for the widow of his dead comrade.
