@Seshi It gets much worse in season 3. The longer he remains trapped in the game, the more of his “humanity” he loses. Fans point to this dark aspect as to what sets it apart from other isekai, but it can make it hard to watch at times. I’m not entirely sure I could make it through a season 4 if one gets made the way things are progressing. Not to discourage anyone, but just a heads up on the direction it takes.

Lots of twists & turns before getting to the real truth behind the legend/rumor, making it more complex than a lot of other series. Hanako is the biggest mystery of all. While he’s clearly not the dangerous evil exorcist boy accuses him of being, there’s definitely something dark in his backstory

Was expecting this week to be a single ep with the emphasis on comedy. While there was still plenty of that (favorite was the girls hating on Camie for being a sl** & even turning against Todoroki because they don’t want to grow up to be “that kind of woman” ). But was surprised by Endeavor actually asking Allmight for advice since he’s now officially the #1 hero, but the public isn’t inspired or put at ease by him. This is also reflected by how both Todoroki & the whirlwind guy are determined to NOT follow his example. And the students must figure out a way to get the kids’ under control next week (overpowering them will just make them look like bullies & cause resentment but letting them get away with it will just make them more rebellious & disrespectful).

For me: Funniest moment so far Most romantic moment so far Next week is supposed to introduce the effects of alcohol into the equation ... can’t wait

Enjoying this one myself. So funny that their feelings are so obvious but but both insist on having a rational basis for their relationship. It’s not possible to be more tragically un-romantic than Yukimura-kun, but he still manages to say just the right thing to make Himuro swoon. And loli senpai’s constantly playing mind games with her lab mates is a riot.

Kotoko is best girl of the season Loving the interactions between her & Saki

Sunny with temps close to 60F. It’s also windy, but still a huge improvement over the past couple weeks of constant gray. Of course they’re predicting highs in the 30s and snow by the end of the coming week

In need of anime like SAO! Can you guys recommend?

The currently airing Infinite Dendrogram has the immersive MMORPG & sentient (or nearly so) NPC aspects. I haven’t seen them yet but hear that Log Horizon & Grimgar of Ash & Fantasy are also similar. -
I’m up to the current episode (6) and it’s one of my favorites for the season. Though I think a single cour is probably an appropriate length since some of the jokes are getting a bit repetitive. I do hope we don’t get a “inconclusive” ending since it’s been obvious since the beginning that they’re meant for each other I’ve found it enjoyable enough & certainly interesting. But it can be more than a little unsettling as Ains’ in game persona takes over more & more of his identity threatening to turn him into an actual monster. I understand the LNs are even more graphic in that sense.

001 was the code name for There’s been no mention of a second season & it seemed to end on a pretty final note so doesn’t seem very likely. Trigger’s next projects are a Netflix series called BNA (Brand New Animal) & a follow up to SSSS.Gridman.

Will most likely do an anime recommendation & the nominations. Not sure if I’m brave/foolhardy enough to attempt the others Thanks for coming up with these

My recollection is that her dad literally vanished from existence just by touching her & her mother abandoned her as a result (which made it that much easier for Overhaul to manipulate her by telling her it was her fault people around her got hurt/died). The previous yakuza leader was actually her grandfather & he entrusted her to Overhaul since their quirks worked in a similar way. But he wouldn’t go along with Overhaul’s plans for her so he put him in a coma. While it’s certain all her issues won’t be resolved anytime soon, the trailer shows she will have made at least some progress by season’s end & will have something of a “little sister” relationship to Mirio.

Adding a couple more (one recent, one not)

I’ve always thought Mikasa & Alita had a similar look

Bofuri: I don't want to get hurt, so I'll max out my df

Just finished episode 4. While there’s still no over reaching storyline, Maple & Sally continue to have fun exploring. This series boss battles all seem to be interesting & well animated. There were 2 this week and unlike the previous ones Maple & Sally have to co-ordinate to win (much to the game developers’ frustration ). As a reward And we end on Shinobu’s (from Kimetsu no Yaiba) seiyuu voicing another elegant but badass samurai character who apparently wants a duel with Maple. Can’t wait till next week -
In addition to the currently airing stuff, finally getting around to finishing Girls Last Tour.

Decided to create a topic for this series since myself & @Seshi are watching it and it has some elements I see possibly appealing to other members. The series draws it general idea from an urban legend of the ghost of a girl who haunts a school bathroom. Apparently the legend is common enough in Japan that has been referenced by several previous anime (also can’t help but wonder if Harry Potter’s Moaning Myrtle doesn’t borrow something from it ). But in this situation, Hanako turns out to be a guy. One of the series recurring themes is that the urban legends are altered versions of real events & that by changing how it is retold, it can affect the nature of the spirit/yokai it is based on (good or evil). And apparently someone is purposefully spreading rumors to that end. The current Madoka series deals with s similar topic, but I personally feel this series is doing a better job. The other thing that really stands out about this series it’s distinctive art style and the way it accentuates it’s supernatural theme. So if you’re interested in supernatural mysteries with some humor & romance, give this one a look

I was a bit concerned that the shift in tone would be too abrupt but they seem to be transitioning into it in a way that feels natural. Looks like the immediate focus will be on Todoroki & Bakugo getting their licenses. The reappearance of some of the rivals from the previous licensing exam was unexpected and can’t wait for next week Also looks like we’ll get some exploration of the relationship between Endeavor & Allmight & Todoroki. And All for One’s other apprentice will probably be the big bad for the season finale (definitely gives off some titan vibes) The repercussions of the Ovethaul arc will definitely be felt for a long while to come, but honestly I don’t feel it was executed very well, especially explaining things like Eri’s quirk or Ovethaul’s motives.

New here, was an anime fan as a teenager.

I’ll also mention Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress which is a zombie apocalypse in an eastern steampunk setting (tv series is on Amazon, follow up movie on Netflix though they divided into 3 episodes for some reason). Finally I’ll recommend Sirius the Jaeger on Netflix. -

As far as my alltime favorite horror series, Shiki & Hellsing Ultimate are both on Hulu. And Castlevania on Netflix was pretty good too. -

Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here I would recommend checking out Dororo. While it may not be horror in the strictest sense, the protagonist is fighting demons and it has some pretty graphic violence. And while not horror at all, I have to recommend Vinland Saga as it is IMO the best anime series on Amazon. It has a viking setting and is pretty violent as well. -
