  1. His pride is definitely what keeps him from seeing the truth. Whether he can be redeemed remains to be seen.
  2. I don’t actually think Spear Hero is that bad of a guy, he just doesn’t realize he’s being led around by the short-hairs As far as the comparison to other series, I get what you say but whenever someone asks for recommendations or “would I like it”, I find it beneficial to offer some sort of point of reference (though if they haven’t seen those series either it’s a moot point :p). Of course every series has it own nuances and style even within the same genre (and sometimes across the form of presentation, I.e. light novels vs anime version). Anyway, am I enjoying the series? Yup, though the degree can vary from week to week. And I’m definitely curious to see how things develop.
  3. Scheduled for April, though it looks like it may be a Funimation exclusive (as far as legal streaming goes anyway)
  4. @Beocat Sorry if I made a mistake in remembering whether Crest or Banner came first, I always confuse them
  5. I just finished episode 6. If you're expecting the edgy anti-hero promoted by fans of of light novels, you'd probably be dissapointed by the past couple eps. Personally, I don't mind it having more in common with How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord than Goblin Slayer. Though there are definitely indication of a larger more serious story as well. And how many eps do you think it will be before we find out that Spear Hero's miracle crop And on a side note, Filo's seiyu is the same as Millim from Reincarncated as a Slime
  6. Welcome, Cypher. Hope you enjoy these forums as much as I do. Romance anime aren’t usually my thing but I enjoyed ReLIFE & Recoveryof an MMO Junkie recently. Kobato too For Space Operas, you might like Banner of the Stars if you haven’t seen it yet. Domestic Girlfriend is the closest I can think of
  7. It's the combination of the two really, but since I always buy Double Stuff, I seem to have a preference for the filling I guess
  8. I looked after my nephews this past saturday so my sister and her husband could have their "date night" Got tickets to an opening night screening of Alita for Wednesday Barring anything miraculous happening along there, Thursday will just be another weekday
  9. Apparently Ebina was popular enough to get her own spin-off manga, though it only lasted two volumes. Don't know anything about it personally. https://myanimelist.net/manga/95652/Akita_Imokko_Ebina-chan From what I recall, the second season focused more on Umara's developing friendship with the other girls & she spent less time in hamster mode. But at the end of the day not what I would call a great deal of character development. So entertaining but not really special.
  10. They actually made a second season. My motivation for sticking around was pretty much Ebina
  11. Not sure if it will be this year but a 2nd season of Dragon Maid has just been confirmed https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-02-11/miss-kobayashi-dragon-maid-anime-gets-2nd-season/.143234
  12. 2nding Azumanga Daioh which is my all time favorite SoL series. And while they only have 12 or 13 episodes I would also highly recommend Yuru Camp & Flying Witch. Along the same lines is K-on! which has a couple seasons and a movie. And while I have't watched it yet, I've heard very good things about Non-non Biyori which I believe has a couple seasons. You might want to give Aria a try. It has three seasons (The Animation, The Natural & The Origination). While there is definitely some comedy to it, more than anything it's just a very calm & relaxing series.
  13. Currently snowing, then more melting and rain Monday & Tuesday
  14. Sounds like Zatchbell. Coincidentally another poster was talking about that series not so long ago.

  16. There is a cute little quiz over on Crunchyroll that let's you find out who your Valentine from the series is if you want to give it a try https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-feature/2019/02/07/quiz-who-will-be-your-danmachi-valentine?utm_source=editorial_cr&utm_medium=carousel&utm_campaign=news&referrer=editorial_cr_carousel_news I got Eina . An elf meganeko ,,, yeah I can live with that
  17. On a side note, since Boogiepop & Fruitsbasket have recently gotten more complete anime adaptions, I’m crossing my fingers Alita might get the same treatment someday
  18. Alita was the first manga I really got into, so I’m definitlely seeing it in theaters. My biggest concern is that they will try to cram in too much material since they went from 3 movies to 1 (merging motorball into the original arc). I know pretty much that it won’t do the source material justice, but I hope they come up with something coherent and Hollywood doesn’t make it too similar to Hunger Games. They say the movie will be self contained but still leave room for possible future expansion, so wonder if we’ll possibly get a cameo by Desty Nova.
  19. Temps in the 60s with thunderstorms developing. Localized flooding likely due to heavy rain & snowmelt. Overnight will become windy and drop into the 20s and not get out of them all day tomorrow. Just ... lovely
  20. Pretty much the same here. Though I know there are dozens (probably over a hundred actually)series, OVAs and Specials I haven't added yet. One of of the things I don't like is it reliance on the original titles, though I am glad that if you search for the "Americanized" title, you'll usually come up with the correct one. And I understand why it's that way considering the site is used internationally
  21. rain with temps approaching 60
