  1. “You’re only you, and I’m only me. We can only be ourselves. We have to accept ourselves & face ourselves” “I wish I could’ve lived my life without any missteps along the way. But that’s not humanly possible. We fail, we stumble, we get lost, we make missteps. We just have to keep walking the path anyway, one step at a time on our own two feet, however much we get hurt. We have to move toward that something … or that someone … at our destination” - Yuki Sohma (Fruits Basket The Final)
  2. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here Afraid I’m not real knowledgeable on anime merch. But some series suggestions based on what you say you have enjoyed/are looking for: The Rising of the Shield Hero; Jujutsu Kaisen; Blue Exorcist; Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood; Black Clover; Fairy Tail; Soul Eater; Fire Force; The Ancient Magus Bride; In/Spectre; .Hack//sign; .Hack//roots; Ajin: Demi-human. You might also like Recovery of an MMO Junkie, it’s more of a rom-com, but with some online gaming elements. And Bofuri which kind of parodies online rpgs, with the MC ignoring the conventional strategies, but finding it works for her & making a lot of online friends.
  3. Ameri is still #1 But Astaroth definitely scored some points this week
  4. Early morning fog thanks to two straight days of rain. But expecting sunny & temps in the mid 80s through the weekend.
  5. Full version of Yugiri’s song from the latest episode of ZLSR really has a burlesque vibe to it in keeping with her background
  6. Glad your still here Hope to hear more from you.
  7. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here If you’re primarily looking for series with a large fanbase, shounen & seinen are probably the most popular genres. Some current examples would be Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), My Hero Academia & Jujutsu Kaisen. There’s also older series like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter & Bleach. Or Death Note & Fullmetal Alchemist (my personal preference is for Brotherhood, but sone prefer the original). But IMO the most important thing is to find series YOU actually enjoy. Since you mentioned Attack on Titan, I would recommend checking out Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress. But I would also recommend checking out other genres too. As @sodaleaked & @efaardvark mentioned, MAL is a resource a lot of people use to find out about different series & keep track of what they’ve watched. Anime Planet can also be helpful. Feel free to share your experiences as you explore.

Not sure if this is something playable outside japan, but thought this sounded interesting https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2021-06-02/fruits-basket-launches-official-animal-crossing-island/.173443

the fact that it’s Tuesday instead of Monday matters surprisingly little

  11. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here Yeah, discovering Suncoast in the 90s was when I really started getting hardcore about anime. Though my first experience was Star Blazers in the late 70s/early 80s

  14. With temps in the 40s & cloudy, a bonfire seems more appropriate than a cookout today

  15. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here As an fyi, once you finish the Kabaneri tv series, there’s a sequel movie on Netflix, though for some reason they divided it into 3 episodes (Battle of Unato)
  16. Giving Tokyo Revengers another look since it’s so hyped right now. Only on ep 3 so far, but definitely more Three O’clock High than Steins Gate. I expect it to be more of a “feel don’t think” series where you root for the underdog to redeem himself by saving his buddies & girlfriend.
  17. I thought of that one as well, but was hesitant to recommend since it does lean on harem tropes pretty heavily to provide fanservice. Having said that, it’s clear from beginning to end that the real couple is Kaoru & Aoi (sorry Tina ) & their interactions are very sweet & romantic. So worth taking a look to see if it meets your standards.
  18. I’m honestly having a hard time commenting on the past couple episodes despite having all sorts of thoughts/emotions rattling around inside my head & several attempts to write them down. In that sense I’m glad you offered your thoughts. As you said, none of what’s happened, with one exception for me (more on this later), has really come as a shock. But the intensity and raw-ness of it all does leave me shaken. I always felt that the series overreaching theme was that no matter how painful/tragic/unfair a person’s past was, there’s still hope for something better ahead. But lately I’m finding myself rewatching the still scenes from the ED over & over to try to reassure myself that everyones going to be “alright” when it’s over, because it’s getting harder to see the light with some recent developments. Which in itself is ironic because several characters are already in a relatively better place than when the series started. And that’s the end of my lunch break Will try to put my thoughts on Kyo, Torhu & Akito down this evening.
  19. Currently in the 60s & raining. Not even supposed to make it to 60 tomorrow. Hard to believe it was close to 90 a week ago.
  20. Probably not that frequently. I’d much rather have a couple of IRL friends into anime we could take turns going to each others place to watch/discuss anime & hang out.
  21. Don’t know what Koboyashi’s problem is. I might actually want to wake up in the morning if this was the first thing I saw.
