One thing I need to ad to this, is that there is a little more than just base level price discrimination going on, and it's actually in favor of developers who use this practice, so, sorry about that. One of the reasons DLC became a standard in the industry, is the increasing price of making a AAA title. It started to get to the point where selling a game at 40 to 60 dollars or the equivalent elsewhere wasn't enough to turn the kind of profit that investors wanted. Developers though, aren't stupid. Most of them at the point more than likely still remember the backlash of raising game prices on consoles from 40 dollars to 60 dollars when the 7th generation started. However, they knew they needed to churn out more money in one way or another, and DLC was how they decided to do it. That said, some devs have really exploited the ever loving hell out of such as Nintendo making all the content in Fire Emblem Echoes cost at least 117 dollars to access or Destiny making you spend a minimum of 90 dollars for all it's year one content, only to drop a 40 dollar DLC that was required to really play the game heading into year 2, but yeah, originally it was not intended to go the way that is has. That said, things like On Disc DLC, which people figured out was way more common than it ever should have been have kind of gone away, but the idea of DLC being everywhere has only increased.

I'm actually kind of surprised I never saw a thread like this, but what just happened had inspired, or maybe rather forced me to want to talk about it. Anime is often used in advertisements in Japan because it's popularity, but seriously what is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWCUrr6kUTc For those who don't know, that is Kiki's Delivery Service being turned into an advertisement, in 2017. That movie, is nearly 30 years old, but someone thought it would be a good idea for an advertisement to update the style to look like a regular, modern day high school anime, wherein Kiki has fallen so hard for Tombo, that she gets jealous when someone confesses feelings for him, and then in the most awkward way possible, she turns around and does the same thing to him followed by a cup of noodles showing up, and the ad ending. There was another ad not too long ago featuring the characters from FFXV in the style of t he short anime series leading up to the release of the game, but that one makes a degree of sense because cup of noddles and Square had an advertising deal. This one, makes no sense at all and I can't imagine how it ever got approved. I wish I could say that was the only ad like that, but there have been some other, rather distasteful ads with anime out there such as Goten and Trunks from DBZ fusing into a Ford like somehow that's better given the situation that caused it to happen in the first place, which is by the way, the fate of the entire universe. Another one has Sailor Moon talking wishfully about a ford, but it's like she's talking about the same way she would about a guy she likes, which is just odd, because that's obviously not something the character would care about. I guess that's supposed to be what makes it funny, but I feel like it's missing the mark so much it becomes annoying. Anyways, that's my 2 cents on anime advertisements, what do you all think? Actually too, is there any other weird anime ads that you'd like to being up? I think I'm kind of developing a morbid interest in them.

You know, I don't believe in guilty pleasures. Why should I ever feel like the things I enjoy I need to hide from others. I like what I like, and really who cares what others think about that.

Yeah Destiny did an extremely poor job. So much so that I have no interest to try and play another Bungie title until or unless they do independent and don't utilize any of the tactics brought on by their current publisher.

Just due to how I'm generally curious about things, I started watching how people's points who would often post would go, including my own. I saw that certain posts would garner more points and that sometimes posting a new thread wouldn't generate any, which seems to go against the explanation of how the points work. I also tried by changing my name and out of curiosity to see what would happen if you were spent points and then posted. Turns out, as far as I can tell that, you get a lot of points after spending a few, or at least more than you would if you posted several times in a row after spending then if you just posted several times in a row. It also seems that after a certain amount of posts, you stop getting points even if you meet several criteria that's expected in order to gain them. Now personally, I don't care much about points, because I don't really spend them that often, but the amount of points that you get, even when following the guidelines intentionally, seems to be less then it should, and I don't know why, but it seems like those who are newer who post often seem to gain more points than those who have been around a bit longer who post just as often. I'm suggesting a proper update be made to the explanation of how points are distributed, because I feel like it's not not detailed enough.

So here's the old thread, I see only mentions of the side dungeons, and not how to unlock them. Annoyingly enough, no other source I've found has done a good job explaining it either so that's a thing.

I like to think of myself as open-minded, so if that turned out to be true, and I was wrong, I'd be okay with it. Mentally, it wouldn't have that drastic of an effect on me.

It may seem rather odd, but Sweden. I'd love to go and see the streets that inspired the look of Kiki's Delivery service myself and see the cafe that inspired her home for the larger part of the film. Plus, I hear Stockholm is just beautiful in the right weather.

At that point I would honestly feel vindicated. See, one of the reasons I believe in God, is because I've seen demons and have the ability to sense them. Supposedly, that spiritual gift is a two sided coin, meaning I should also be able to see an angel should it ever come to me, but I have not had that happen yet, which has left me questioning that ability to some extent.

You absolutely have some points but I still feel like some things came out of the blue or were only thrown in because the story would be otherwise stuck in a rut. It would have probably worked better if they hadn't spent so many episodes in a tree basically saying nothing and doing even less. For some reason in both seasons thus far, we have high octane moments one after the other that are easy enough to follow and make the series as a whole interesting enough to watch, but then as if the creators think we can't comprehend all that's happened, it slows down for a few episodes that feel more like filler than anything else. If the next season manages to avoid that, It will be the best season in the series without a doubt.

Assuming were only talking about length, and not necessarily against other people, I've completed several long races in GT games like the 24 hours of le mans. Not in one sitting mind, but more than 6 hours at a time.

You know, with the fact that I want to be a journalist online, and that means my career of choice is all about using technology to it's fullest, you'd think I'd be all about it, but honestly that's not the case. I am surrounded by technology, and I use it all the time with my phone, my computer, my game systems and all that, but I'm not in love with technology. It's all part of a pass-time that I want to turn into a career, but even with that in mind, I doubt if I got what I wanted my opinion would change much. I'm just kind of in the middle.

I could and in most instances already have made cases for why this is not true, so I couldn't agree more I wanted to. I would much rather watch an anime about someone coming of age and beginning to understand the world they'll live in for most of their lives that's 50 or less episodes, then watch a battle get hyped for the length of Anohana only for it to take even longer. That trope is tired and old, and I'm really over it.

I kind go off and on with Metal. I've never had a problem with it, and I do listen to I enjoy, but I don't always keep up with it either.

Everything they have are in their own way beautiful, sad, both or so well fitting into what's going on that even when it's funny you can't help but be completely elated the whole time. Absolutely. I have some friends who will watch Pokemon and DBZ but think anything else in anime is too odd. I listen to that and I'm just like, wait a minute, people catching random wild animals, some with the power to erase all existence in the event of their death, and Aliens who can fly around and hit each other so hard that they can shake the very foundation of the universe is fine with you, but a group of kids taking a vacation at a beach during summer for one episode is too much for you? What the sense make?

I've gotten pretty sick of the lack of variety of voices in Japanese anime voice acting. I know I've brought it up before, and it is kind of hard to call it a trope, but seriously, what else would you consider the same 12 voices for 30 years? Give me more characters with voices like Natsu and Maka, although maybe less roles like their's because those have gotten pretty tired as well, and I'll be elated. I can only hear the same line spouted by the same voice despite it being a different actor so many times, and throwing in lingo that's only relevant to that world doesn't help either. I can watch most anime, especially in the Shounen genre's first two or three episodes and know exactly what's going on without subs because it's the same tired lines. Japan needs to get to the point where they move on enough from these sorts of things enough that they can make fun of them, like they do with some anime making fun of old Japanese Samurai films.

I haven't been obsessed with an anime since Hanasaku Iroha, but man was I at the time. When I watched it, the movie was already out, so I watched the show, then I watched the movie, and then just because, I watched them both all over again straight away, and I've seen them a total of four times, though it's been a while so I haven't seen either for a decent enough time to forget some things. I might watch it again considering the only anime I'm watching now is Boruto.

Chrono Crusade comes into mind. I don't know why the story took the turn it did, but I have a thing against anime that kill off main characters for some BS manufactured tension and that's what that anime did for me. Beyond that, and I've talked about it too death but SAO has really become a disappointment. When I first started watching it, I thought for sure we were getting a modern day .hack with death on the table instead of coma's, but instead it decided it couldn't keep that deep thought up for everyone all the time, so the only characters of significance that die are those that are clearly going to die because that's their arc. I gotta say as well, that I am disappointed with how Yuuki's death was handled. I was hoping it would be a moment as emotional as when certain characters in .hack fell into coma's but then I couldn't help but think how insane it is to try and justify someone spending their last living moments with headgear on when that could have been avoided and family probably wouldn't have allowed it. At least in .hack, usually someone is attacked in game and has a few moments before they lose consciousness so there's not really anything that can be done about that. When Yuuki dies, the set-up doesn't make sense. I'm harsh with SAO but only because it started off like it was going to be amazing, and then fell so hard from what it should have, and could have been, only to try it again later and fail. I wasn't expecting it to be exactly like .hack or anything, but it had to the potential to be on that level, and it dropped that so quickly that even the parts that were close mean less because they led to so little. I am truly disappointed with that.
