Grilling up some mesquite burgers made with extra lean beef & instead of buns, I'm wrapping them in those big lettuce leaves I got at the store. I also picked up some salt free ketchup. Oh, you thought I'd miss out on the yummies of Summer just because I'm eating healthy? Uh...no. I've just found some tasty ways to make it happen anyway

Hey....there is no lettuce wrapped burger emoji, ok? Work with me, people! LOL!

This is friggin' awesome! So glad to see people overcoming the challenges that are presented to overweight people who are honestly trying to get healthier. I wish this YouTuber all the success in the world:

In the process of replacing all the sauces/condiments I use in cooking with better alternatives i.e. no sodium ketchup, salt free spice blends, etc.
I'm really glad I started this gradually because if I tried to do this all at once I would be completely overwhelmed. To anyone else who is trying to overhaul their health, please remember to give yourself time to adjust.

Looking forward to what comes next in the role play you started writing.

Your picture really does a great job of lulling people into a false sense of security by making you look ultra sweet and innocent. Well played, Loli. Well played.

Not gonna lie, "meatless meat" has always been questionable in my mind. Not totally against the idea you understand, just... highly skeptical. The veggies are ok. Not a big fan of broccoli either but in small amounts it is fine. Drop a small slice of fish or chicken on that rice to make a donburi bowl out of it and I'd make a meal of it, no problem.

After dinner I wanted a snack. So I got a few leaves of this lettuce that I found at Wal-Mart & put a little light salad dressing in a small container & dipped the leaves in & snacked on them. I think this is going to be something that I keep going because it was enough to satisfy my snack craving without ruining all the effort I'd put in during the day to watch what I ate.
Now someone might be thinking: Ruth, why are you sharing all this?
Because I know I'm not the only one in the world who wants to get healthier or lose weight & maybe no one else in AF is doing this but maybe they know someone who is & maybe that person's struggling & could use some helpful tips or advice from someone else who understands how they feel & appreciates how hard they're trying even if they don't know them personally.
That's why.

Reducing sodium in my diet is a bit more challenging than I thought it would be but I've got my intake for today down to below 2300mg which is the most that people should have in a day according to the FDA, CDC, & American Heart Association so I'm glad. Being mindful everyday is what it's going to take to stay on track but if this is going to help me feel my best then I'm going to give it my best shot. Thank goodness for my food journal lol.
