efaardvark
The last movie I (re)watched was Miyazaki's "Whisper of the Heart" last week. It is an older one, but anything Miyazaki is worth another view now and then. I can't remember the movie before that. Maybe "The 13th Warrior"? Not an anime, but good nevertheless. Not to be rude, but rather for the sake of being accurate, Miyazaki did the Screenplay, but it was directed by the late Yoshifumi Kondo who died three years later. It would be unfair not to give him his fair dues. The last movie I watched was Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it was a great film. Not perfect, but not bad like the people who are mad about being wrong are pointing out. It honestly bothers me that so many people are looking for excuses to try and justify not getting what they thought they were going to by whining about the smallest detail only to try and convince people that they were right. It's pathetic, and yet it's everywhere.
Ozzie
The last movie i watched was Hardcore Henry. It was hardcore, yes. And i liked it. The fact that it was a POV makes it also a lot better. It had comedy and shootouts, the story might not be the best but i liked it.

ItsSammy
Just watched Crimson Peak again for the second time and it's still just as amazing and intriguing. I can honestly recommend this to any horror/thriller fans who are looking for an original idea with complex and beautiful characters.

Loralai
I watched Star Wars episode IV yesterday. During the process of watching I realized that I had been to young to understand what was going on. That really explains why I never really liked it before. This time I could follow the plot and had a lot of fun with it. When I first watched it I was under the impression that C3-PO and R2-D2 were a couple... My Mom says that they weren't, but I still think they are.
ToxicWolf1132
Hush was the last movie I saw, and I was fairly disappointed. Started out creepy, but the problem is the killer takes off his mask and starts talking early on in the movie. From that point, the killer goes from being a silent menacing figure to an annoying redneck. Talk about wasted potential
ssjup81
Thor Ragnarok, finally. It was interesting. Too bad I didn't see the Avengers film that came before this one and have no idea what the ending of it was leading up to. Too bad the film didn't have enough of Loki in it for me. Tom is just awesome.

It's pathetic, and yet it's everywhere. Same on both regards; last movie watched, and great film! I have no problems with The Last Jedi, or rather minor problems; the first time I watched it, I wasn't sure of it, but maybe it didn't have my full attention that time, but when I watched it for a second time, it had my full attention, and I was like "Chewie, we're home" ;)! I have much criticism for The Force Awakens, what with the fact it was literally A New Hope, dressed up in different clothes, as part of a veiled attempt to bring back those that liked the original trilogy, but disliked the prequels... and it worked; the aforementioned people came back, praising how Star Wars was back to how they remember (no duh, with that plot) - for all the hate George Lucas got for the prequels, at least he did something different, he didn't go "that story worked well in the original trilogy, perhaps I should use it again"! The Force Awakens had to make everything dark and edgy, such as dramatic force holds, and Kylo Ren's lightsabre, which I usually belittle by saying the reason why the latter is like that, is an inbalance in the regulatory; for all I know, it could be true, Kylo Ren messed with the settings on his lightsabre, as he thought it would make him look bad ass! So Disney-Star Wars' first outting was a success, and Disney think "we don't need to play it safe anymore, we've got everyone Lucas lost back", and that was the problem for some people with The Last Jedi; it went off book, and that was GREAT!! Finally, a story we hadn't heard before, or at least the scenes are in different places on the storyboard!! That said, I did have a couple of issues I had with the movie: The zoom shot (after the crawl, the camera zooms towards the planet, flying past ships) - in my first watch, this shot looked terrible, but in my second watch, it looked fine, so I might have to make up my mind on a third watch, on DVD (or Blu-Ray); The death of Paige Tico (Rose's sister) - there's arguments to say it is necessary, as it is one of the ways the Resistance becomes real to us, but it may have not happened if they had such rubbish ships, Y-Wings would have been the better choice, sure they don't have as large a payload, but they're fast and nimble, and you could probably have more of them, that could in total, have the same payload; The non-death of Leia Organa-Solo - similar to Rey, Leia although has had no Jedi training (PROBABLY), is able to summon some of her raw untapped force ability to save herself from death, as Carrie Fisher is unfortunately no longer with us, perhaps they should have let Leia die, maybe even have Kylo Ren collect the body, after killing his escorts, for killing his mother; The death of Admiral Ackbar - after Return of the Jedi, it appears there has been a stagnation in the galaxy, as the rebels still seem to be rebels at the time of The Force Awakens, and people still hold the same rank they did forty years ago, now if Leia had died, perhaps Admiral Ackbar could have stepped up to the plate, but there is a theory that the reason why he may have died, was because his voice actor died after the last movie, so in this movie he was voiced by a sound-a-like; The death of Vice-Admiral Holdo - if Leia had died, here is another person that could have stepped up to the plate, after all, outside extra material, Holdo has been brought on for one movie, and then has been killed off, if she hadn't she may have been the new face of the Resistance, to carry it though into the next movie; The bigger, faster, stronger AT-AT (well, I don't know about faster) - so great, the First Order developed the AT-M6, but we don't know why, if there some inherent flaw on the original AT-AT, that the new front legs resolve, it would have been a good idea to see it in action; The non-deaths of Finn and Rose - after talking about deaths that shouldn't have been, now it's deaths that should, now I'm not saying both, but one of them, as I had no issue with Finn making a suicide run, and then when Rose saved him, and fainted, I had no issue if she'd died, it would have meant Finn might have to take a long hard look at himself in the mirror, in regards to his actions; The when you see it moment - so Luke appears to save the day, he steps out onto the salt plains... and he makes no foot prints, only when you know, do you notice, or this was the case with me anyway; The Luke vs. Ren fight - after Ren gets some pent up rage out of his system by ordering every Fist Order vehicle to fire at Luke, the two of them engage each other in lightsabre combat, with Ren using his familar lightsabre, and Luke using an equally familiar lighsabre... that was just destroyed by Ren and Rey not to long ago, yet Ren seems to not bat an eyelid, yes sure Luke could have built another one, but unlikely, in my opinion; The passing of the baton to the next generation - so with Han dying in the last movie, and Luke in this movie (along with Admiral Ackbar), Disney-Star Wars passing the baton to the next generation, as there is a theory that youngsters might replace the old guard in the ranks. Anyway, so those were my issues with The Last Jedi, well that and Benicio del Toro's stutter (unless he actually has one), and the fact Snoke was force moving people round like they were in a Jamiroquai music video, however the last one can be argued is a carryover from Abrams tenure; with Abrams back in the driving seat for Episode IX, will we strapping ourselves in for Return of the Jedi the Redux? CasseyFujiwara
Umm.. the last movie I just watched though not anime related is actually Black Panther, it was pretty awesome. The graphics were good and I like how Erik Killmonger is depicted in the movie though not loyal to the comics, Michael B. Mars Terra
I watch Black Panther recently and thought it to be a 8, now let me talk about spoilers: I can understand what Killmonger was trying to do--but he was trying to do it too fast because the way he wanted to go about it would just change who was the oppressors and who was the oppressed and he failed to see that it isn't about black or white, or rich or poor--you can't judge how good or how bad a person is based on those types of things. It was really sad at the end though where T'Challa took Killmonger to see the sunset as he's dying, it's a shame that it was too late by the time T'Challa realized that he should of shared the technology with people instead of keeping it hidden.
