Wickett
Finished Frieren: Beyond Journey's End season 1, and I have to say, it was meh all the way through. It's chill and feel good, which is fine. It's done well for what it is, but if you're looking for twisty and exciting you won't find it here. I really hope the next season is longer like this one and actually finally puts these characters that they have taken forever to only partially establish and place them in some decent action. If it insists on sticking with "magic is fun" as the theme then I may bail.
Ohayotaku
Finished Apocalypse Hotel. Definitely qualifies as “different”. Had some very good episodes, particularly the final 2 (also enjoyed episode 4) but more misses than hits for me personally. A lot of it is the sense of humor which frequently felt more odd than funny to me, but also certain that it’s a deliberate creative choice like how much of the OP actually sounds out of tune / off key. It’s been a long time since I watched Humanity Has Declined, but I think they have a very similar feel & most people would react the same way. For me, 6/10. (Present tense because I'm not done yet.) Definitely a refreshing change from isekai everything that seems to have taken over anime of late. I liked HHD enough to have rewatched a handful of times since release and Apocalypse Hotel gives off similar vibes. It's not the same plot or anything but it has a kinda similar "serious comedy" sorta thing going on. The individual characters are serious and the post-apocalyptic setting is even a bit of a downer if you think about it too much but the situations and solutions are anywhere from silly to absurd. Somehow it works, at least for me. With HHD the episode that hooked me was the banana one. I'm hoping for at least 1 similarly enjoyable episode from AH.

I personally feel like it’s probably the most consistently well executed anime out there. What I mean is that most series have high points but also low points. I don’t have any real criticism, but not much in the way of highlights either. Never disappointed, but didn’t really wow me either. Frequently made me reflect on things, but never made me tear up. No real gut punch or adrenaline rush moments. Frequently made me chuckle, but not really lol. The worldbuilding is quite good though. A really “solid” title, but not overly hyped about it. I gave it a 9 on MAL, but 8.5 would probably be closer for me. It’s ranked as the #1 anime on MAL, but would personally put Vinland Saga & Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood ahead of it. I finished Gorilla Girl as well. As previously noted, it didn’t do anything particularly well, gave it a 5/10. Since it dropped the ball on the comedy aspect, I resumed watching a Ninja & Assassin Under One Roof. Had initially set it aside because Konoha seemed too mean spirited, but she’s mellowed somewhat & usually offers at least a couple chuckles per episode. Currently 6/10. Also finished Fire Force season 3 (pt 1). Did a pretty good job of giving the various characters their moments while revisiting past plot points as they set up for the final cour next year. Didn’t really have the adrenaline rush moments I seem to remember from past seasons though & the ending scene was kinda WTF? I’ll probably rewatch from season 1 before the finale next year. Gave it an 8/10 (rounded up from 7.5) Sorry voor my late response,..was busy at the office. So Frieren does has some action or fantasy? It is not all looking back in never-ending memories? I deleted Gorrila girl from my own memories LOL. Never want to think about it. I also watched Ninja and assassin. And yes that is also bit childish and cheesy. but you know me,..i dont like most comedy in anime, but this serie gave me some laughs. I have tonight and tomorrow off from work./ So searching what to watch. ai is confident that 'made in Abyss' would be top notch for me

Most of the action is in the 2nd half (cour) of the season which centers on a HxH style licensing exam. Though I do remember a few action scenes in the first half. But flashbacks & moments of reflection are very much defining characteristics of the series. 38 minutes ago, Bulletje76 said: made in Abyss Hope you like shock value. Actually was kinda impressed with season 1, but the sequel movie & 2nd season felt excessive & more than a little creepy/pervy. For myself, will probably focus on catching up on Apothecary Diaries tonight before finishing Ninja & Assassin and Rock is a Lady’s Modesty tomorrow. I just finished The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom. Nothing great but considering the GFX and storyline and especially the end;...i give it a 7/10. Perhaps a bit generous score. But if you are bored;..something to watch

As @Ohayotaku already pointed out there are a few places in the story where action picks up a bit, but it'll still be a chore to get through if action is what you're going for. It's not an overly interesting anime so far in my opinion and I'm especially surprised that one article I saw was even suggesting it could be the greatest anime of all time. Don't make me laugh. I'm a few episodes into Deadman Wonderland right now, it's fairly interesting and curious to see where the story goes.

Ohayotaku
Finished Rock is a Lady’s Modesty It was one of the series I looked forward to each week, but disappointed it ended without clarifying what was going on with Lilisa’s family situation specifically what went on to cause her mom to become so unstable & turn her against Lilisa’s guitar playingPossibility of a 2nd season is unclear & even though there is a manga, I don’t see how a static medium can satisfactorily capture the series’ energy. 7/10 Finished A Ninja & An Assassin Under One Roof Wound up being 95% comedy, but the 5% of time it took things more seriously helped it be more enjoyable. I’d initially set it aside because of Konoha’s callousness, but was impressed when they actually used it for some character development instead of just mean humor. Pleasant surprise of the season. 7/

This aged like milk that was already one day past its expiration. By episode 8 or so this anime had dropped off so badly and had become a mess of unexplained phenomenon and inconsistencies that I could barely get through it. I managed to dig in and finish it but wouldn't you know it the end was just as bad as the middle. Upon completing the show I realized it didn't get a full adaption from the manga and I am not surprised by that, at all. Apparently the first season wasn't adapted well, wasn't received well in Japan, and therefore never saw a season 2. Probably for the best. 3/10 for decent fight scenes, that's it. KaiyaSaysHaiya
I finally finished Your Lie In April recently! Although I had the ending spoiled a long time ago, it was still really impactful. Such a beautiful story. Definitely made me want to get better at the piano I recently watched Banana Fish as well. Again, such a beautiful story! The ending made me cry but it was worth it. Seeing Eiji and Ash's relationship blossom was such a treat. I would say more, but I forgot how to make the spoiler boxes on here lol. I've also seen a few people complain about the artstyle, but I personally liked it. I've also picked up Monster again! You'd think I would've finished it (considering my profile picture for the past two years or so and all) buttttt nope. I only ever got around to episode 31 then I just never got around to finishing it. It's a great series, though, so I decided to restart it. I finally got back up to episode 30 yesterday! I love Monster, so I'll continue to watch it :]

Unfortunately the ending didn’t really have the emotional impact that was intended for me (6.5/10). Don’t really get the people I’ve seen saying it’s better than the main series. Supposed to continue next year, but not very high of a priority for me. Final ep of Apothecary Diaries 2 is Friday, will at least start Kowloon Generic Romance by then. Summer season shows don’t really become a factor for me until Saturday (7/5) Edited July 1 by Ohayotaku 1
