  1. From now on, all I can imagine is you as 3 small children in a duffle-coat sat at top one another's shoulders. You are kids now. We all have an unhealthy relationship with food. After all, we keep coming back to it

  2. Well this is understandable because nobody really would be willing to watch an anime with so many episodes like OP unless he fully commits himself to watch only that. I have realized over the years that I tend to "put an anime on hiatus" unconsciously, in particular with long running shounen anime where slow pacing plots/arcs can kill the whole thing. Whereas 12 episodic anime, f.e are more forgiven, as far as the anime studio adapts it accordingly. Vinland Saga for instance did the anime adaptation fairly well. I have read the manga to 50 chapters (which would be equal to 24+ episodes and even more, no idea how they are planning to fit it into 24 episodes) but the first chapter of the manga is different to what we see in the anime. The Anime Studio decided to follow a linear storyline, what you would normally see in the first episodes could have been "flashbacks" of Thorfinn's childhood if they decided to follow the original manga. Anyways. I digress but yeah maybe give Black Clover another try and watch it dubbed if you want to. Normally, not a fan of dubs but the dub version for B.C is better than sub.

  3. So "Emo" music has consistently been my favorite kind of music for years now, and while "Emo" may not necessarily sum up the sound of the music it is what most people would call the bands I like. Seeing as in my household my music taste is disputed by many of my siblings as well as my parents, mainly for the sound as most of them do agree the lyrics are meaningful. So, with such bands as My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Twenty one Pilots, Icon for Hire, La Dispute, and Fallout Boy in mind what would you say you're opinion of "Emo" music is based off of sound and lyric quality.

  4. @Humbby I actually seem to have the opposite reaction. If I hear a lot of hype surrounding a series or I go into it with high expectations, I’ve noticed I tend to be less forgiving. One of the reasons I try not to read reviews until I’ve already started to form an opinion. @Muco I honestly didn’t think Black Clover was that bad. Even though I did drop it fairly early on, I actually think I might revisit it someday. The biggest obstacle is I tend to prefer series that just last a couple cours or at least give you a break in between to explore something different. Same reason I burned out on One Piece & Hunter x Hunter, but would like to get back into them someday.

  5. Everyone would say that they dont care what others write or about rating but thats not how the brain actually works. Just looking at an average rating or a review doesnt change your opinion but when you see it time and time again your brain is actually going to believe that what people are saying is indeed true. There are a lot of experiments that show that this is the case. It takes like 2 seconds of searching and you will find something about it. People unconciously mimic eachother so if you were to read a lot of bad reviews for a show before watching it there is a very high chance you will think its bad too after you have seen it. So yes it does change perspective if you want it or not. And i agree that promised beverland was a good show but i dont think it was underrated it has a 8+ score i think which is pretty high.

  6. Welcome one and all, Brothers and sisters, to the Gryffindor house! As is tradition, we would like to start off by introducing everyone within the introduction ceremony! Please, when called, step to the front and give us your name and your aspirations for the wizarding world... Or, if you're unsure, not a problem! Sometimes life is a path worth carving with one's own sword if the goal in sight is shrouded. "Their daring, nerve and chivalry set Griffindors apart" and all! So, who's first? Hmmm? ...Whelp, guess I'll start us off! Hi, the names Cruck, or CK for short, and my aspiration for the wizarding world is to follow in my fathers footsteps to become a Dragon keeper! So, what of the rest of ya?

  8. In anticipation of the 4th season of Haikyu, and due to the long gap between the last season' release, I decided to start re-watching Haikyu! this month, it will likely take that long to re-watch and 4th Season is set to air September 22nd. For now, you can find Haikyu! on crunchyroll for sure, there may be other sources as well. If you want to join me, we can keep this thread going 'til the release of the 4th season, then move on over to Currently Airing.

  9. Netflix adapted programme. I haven't watched it all yet but for those not familiar with the manga (I wasn't) here is a summary. Since the Edo periods of Japan, gladiator arenas exist in certain areas. In these arenas, wealthy business owners and merchants hire gladiators to fight in unarmed combat where winner takes all. Tokita Ohma, nicknamed "Asura", joins these arenas and devastates his opponents. His spectacular ability to crush his enemies catches the attention of the big business owners, including the Nogi Group chairman, Nogi Hideki. Animation is top. Voice acting is great. Action is brilliant. If you like hajime no ippo you'll like this. Worth the watch (I'm on ep 5 at the mo)

Currently experiencing the same thing, albeit I'm just on summer break from uni :3 go back some time in early October, but haven't been given any actual dates for it yet You know what they say, a rotisserie chicken a day keeps the diet away!

  23. Well, within the novel I'm making at the moment there are a few other words made up to account for the factor of certain things existing in certain places that don't otherwise. Like these for bounty hunters; Guffrender: "The act of rendering someone unstable or unconscious via the use of a rope or length of material, done in such a way as to make them easily moveable via the use of Guffing* them. Word commonly used to describe a bounty hunters duty when capturing a hostile alive" *Guffing: "Utalising remote or psychological manipulation to controll ones movements, but for the express purpose of non-violent capture or restraint"

  24. So Latina shows she can already be helpful on an expedition, though I imagine the regulars at the inn miss her. And can’t help but think Dale has some “history” with the elf girl he runs into in town.

  26. I always prefer watching an AMV over reading some reviews on MAL where people tend to exaggerate. Actually if you've seen anime for a long time, you will eventually give it 3 episode before either continuing or dropping it. I am still watching Black Clover since it's initial release, regardless of the fact that people have been complaining about Asta's screaming and branded it as a bad anime from the get-go. Most MAL reviews for BC were also based off of the first couple episodes but if you have just kept watching it up until now then you won't be having any regrets. Don't get influenced by reviews too much - they're a great source but they also can affect your decision heavily. (which you might regret at some point)

  28. Ratings don't reflect how you'll feel about something however if it isn't something you experienced then the only things you have are your research into the material and the opinions of others the latter in the form of ratings. By default my own research trumps opinion polls be it a movie, anime, or product since I know what I'm looking to get out of something, but ratings/reviews do hold some weight for me when ultimately deciding as more information is always a good a thing to have. When considering reviews and ratings however I tend to toss the worst and the best without reading them since the people those tend to be biased for one reason or another. For the low end they tend to be ratings or reviews where they were expecting one thing or another that it simply didn't live up to say they heard the show was X genre and it ended being Y genre and they don't like Y genre then the show will inevitably suffer a heavy handed review for the fact or those that rate it particularly high tend to latch on to one or a few aspects they really like and ignore the flaws it has not saying that a glowing review can't include the flaws as something that was far outweighed, but it's not typical that they do. Really the averages make the most difference to me than individual testimonials do. If a product or program receives a majority of reviews on the low-end then it probably doesn't work/break or in a show has flaws that are widespread enough that they hit a chord among a diverse population of customers/watchers whereas if poor reviews are the outlier and a rarity it's probably a fairly reliable.

  31. I don't tend to look at reviews and rating for anything. I just look for things that I think I would like and watch it. I also browse anime forums around the internet for suggestions or just get recommendations from friends for different things too.

  38. I am quite unprofessional, and most of my supervisors were and are. Not in a way like @Seshi mentioned, more in a 'what? I can't believe these guys actually work at a university' kinda way. I regularly write insane e-mails starting with things as 'fellow humans' and randomly offer food to students People are usually quite confused but after a while they get that I just don't care too much about formalities and everyone mellows out which makes debates a lot more productive than everyone trying to be as wordy as possible (which is quite an annoying thing in philosophy, if people take over 5 minutes to pose a simple question).

  39. In case anyone was coming here hoping to find useful information, turn around, I am not an expert in this subject matter, just thoughtful insights here. If you're looking for someone else's perspective on this subject, well hello! You've come to the right place. I wanted to share my thoughts on mute characters in writing, because until recently I hadn't even considered the possibility of a mute character in a story, or even in life for that matter. Not that I'm consciously noninclusive, it's just that I can only recall one instance where there was a mute person I've been exposed to, and it was in a movie that I watched. She was a very beautifully done character with loads of personality and a huge impact on the story, and it was because she went through this huge change, overcoming her struggle with trusting, and being afraid to the point of not speaking, that the story was so beautiful. However, she only did this because of the help of the other characters in this movie. These characters were also given the heroic honor to notice this young character and help her life change for the better when they could have easily left her alone and chosen to ignore her entirely. She was mute, she wasn't a squeaky wheel asking for attention, yet they chose to take the time to get to know her and to help her, and this made their characters better too. The point: mute characters take more effort, but they can be worth it. Since starting the RP "The Harmony of our Hearts" with @Nova who requested that there be a mute character, I have been concerned that I may have bit off a bit more than I could chew. I was thinking, how on earth will I be able to role play this character, when she can't speak.. What will her contribution even be? I'll admit, its been pretty tough to pull this off, and I hope I'm doing okay, and not creating a character that no one wants to be around... But the thing is, if mute characters take effort, then the other characters in the story will just have to take the time to understand and help my character to truly flourish again. The premise behind her being mute is pretty rough, but basically it was from an accident that she witnessed or perhaps somehow feels to blame for. At the same time, her best friend Kagura is unhealthy, and is prone to getting injured, being around her makes her remember this accident. So i'm hoping that I can eventually rebuild this characters strength and overcome the anxiety and the fear underlying her condition. Communicating with these characters in the story has been challenging, mostly I will be doing facial expressions, body language, and as I recently mentioned in the story, texting other characters. I don't want to add telepathy, because I feel like this story isn't going to include these types of abilities. It's more of a love story, so perhaps Sofias desire for the love interest, or even his future involvement with her will help her to heal and we can see a massive change in the character as the story reaches a climax. Anyway, I hope you've gotten something out of this, or considered mute characters for one of your future stories. Let me know in the comments if you've got any creative ideas for Sofia to be interacting with her friends in this RP.. I'll give you the link below. Looking forward to it. -Seshi
